What Else Besides Handgun Do You Carry?

Looks like a slow day today.
I was looking at a thread on packing.org just now about tasers. I am not looking at a taser, but was just wondering how many folks carry spray or other "non-lethal" weapons and what is your experience with them? LEO are welcome to comment since you folks certainly have more opportunity to apply said force.
If you like particular brands, say so.
Let's get some converstions going here. Must be hurricane blues. :P :P

After reading the thread on OC spray at the bottom of the Ladies section of this forum, I ordered a small bottle of the Fox Labs OC spray.
Actually, I ordered two. I tried one out, to get an idea of the spray pattern and duration. And I weighed it before and after discharge, so I'll know how to tell if one has leaked most of its charge.
I bought one of those key chain holders at Home Depot, that clips on the belt, and reels in and out. It hides under an untucked golf shirt, is quickly accessible, and doesn't rub on stuff like it might in my pocket. I really wouldn't want the safety to get pushed off and have it discharge accidentally.
I like the idea of having a non lethal option. There are a lot of guys that are capable of hurting me badly without weapons. I don't want to have to shoot them, but I don't want to be a victim either. I expect it will also be effective against dogs, while walking around the neighborhood. Shooting an attacking dog may be legal and morally justifiable, but I'd sure rather avoid all the attention I'd get afterward.

I never thought I would actually say this, seriously, MINE'S SMALLER THAN YOURS!!!!
I carry a 2.4" SOG Flash.
Since I work on Federal "property" and we are prohibited from carrying weapons, I follow 18USC930 to the letter.
To wit:
(g) As used in this section:
(1) The term ''Federal facility'' means a building or part thereof owned or leased by the Federal Government, where Federal employees are regularly present for the purpose of performing their official duties.
(2) The term ''dangerous weapon'' means a weapon, device, instrument, material, or substance, animate or inanimate, that is used for, or is readily capable of, causing death or serious bodily injury, except that such term does not include a pocket knife with a blade of less than 2 1/2 inches in length.

a 3" pocket knife.
Same here. Hopefully it will grow soon. If I ever stop spending money on my Springfield I'll purchase another knife and a flashlight.

Scott Murry, you are right. I too am 55 & have completely wore out knees & ankles. I will never get away from anyone that is healthy, young, & mobile. Never did any fighting to speak of even as a kid. Know that a knife in my hand is for work & not defense. Have no training what so ever. If I need my pistol I decided a long time ago I will make as small a target as possible & trust the Lord to guide my 230 grain rock from my Kimber sling as acurately as He did David's. I also practice a lot so He doesn't have to move it very far if necessary.

If I don't have to shoot I sure don't want to. I carry the same pepper set up that the local LE does. Have never had to draw my shooter but have had pepper out twice. BOTH WERE DOGS. A shoot over a dog is too many q's & a while w/o weapon probably. Good decission. Good rig on the spring load. I may look at that.

I carry a pocketknife, but I don't think of it as a weapon. I suppose that as an absolute means of self-defense it would work but since I have no training in knife fighting I would probably just make a fool of myself in the best case and get sliced up in the worst.
Someone at work said something to me about 'carrying a weapon' a while back. It seems they saw me open a box with my knife.

I truly didn't know what they were referring to, then they said that I was carrying a knife, well I guess I was but it's not a weapon.
I was told that kids can't carry knifes in school anymore. I graduated HS 11 years ago and carried one every day throughout school and since. Maybe it helps that I went to a very small school in a AG community?

I started carrying a blade as a backup, but found that the thing was tremendously useful as a utility knife. Now that I use it for everything, it's not so sharp anymore and I wouldn't want to have to use it as a weapon.
