To me it was not funny. and probably discouraged them from trying to get involed with shooting.. Some of those guys set the women up, and purposely watched them unable to handle the recoil, so they could laugh. Most 11-year old boys cant handle a shotgun. Giving the one dame who looked like she weighed 70_lbs a pistol grip 12ga with no stock, was not fair.
Word of advice if you want your wife or gf to support and particpate in your hobby, dont scare them and humiliate them when they try it.

I never want to try to scare someone with a firearm. But I went with my girlfriend to visit her family in San Antonio. She told me to bring my guns because they have some land down there. She was shooting my 12 gauge Mossberg 500 better than i was. I did accidently scare her once with a Mosin Nagant. She wasn't prepared for how loud it was. All in all I was pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, the girls might have been set up or had some instruction - we'll never know but I still think it's funny . Different strokes for different folks.
My wife always goes with me to the range - she loves it. I even bought her a one-on-one 1/2 day training session to improve her skills with a lady instructor.

It was not nice to hand inexperienced women shotguns without showing them proper bracing.

Recently went through a Ladies Basic Defensive Shotgun class. I have "shotgun experience", but never really got shown how to properly mount the shotgun. I put quite few rounds through at class. I had one bruise on my clavicle, but that was where I got excited doing some tactical reloads and didn't pull the butt to my shoulder firmly. I have a Remington 870 Express XS that I really love.
I shot right handed until a couple years ago when I realized I was VERY left eye dominant, so I am relearning long arms. I do much better with my dominant eye
I find NOTHING humorous by giving ladies a large caliber gun and letting them get beat up by it by not showing them how to manage the recoil. I have met so many ladies that are terrified to the point of shaking and tears when they want to learn to shoot but have either had a bad experience in the past, or "heard how awful it is" from others. Usually they end up ready for more, excited to learn and thrilled when just a small amount of time is taken to show them the right way.
