Introducing people to shooting and getting frustrated.

I have had several people express interest in learning to shoot and getting their chls lately. So I have had informal gun safety and familiarization get togethers at my house and now they are ready to start shooting! Which is great! Except I can't find any dang ammo! :banghead: They are excited to learn, and I'm trying not to curb their enthusiasm, but this is crazy. I need a few hundred rounds of 9mm and a brick or two of .22. This panic buying is out of control. I miss the old days (two months ago.) :headscratch Sorry, just had to vent!

If they want to shoot, you need to tell them what brand and type of ammo (target rounds!) and tell them to stake out their local Academy stores and get their 1 box per day, so they can stock up for a couple weeks and then you can have a range day.

+1 on what Teamless said re:Academy

Now that they are limiting sales to 1 box per customer, seems like the supplies last longer... so, I would tell them to go to Academy and get a box. Now, my local Academy has been out of .22LR since late December... glad I got 3 bricks before Christmas.
