Range day for 3 teens.
Took my 14 yr old 8th grade son and his two best friends to the range yesterday. The two friends had never fired a handgun before so we had a little saftey class before shooting. Also brough my sons 20 gauge aluto-loader and shot some clays. I brought two 9mm's and my .45. The boys had a blast and cant wait to do it again. Even offered to buy ammo. lol

You offered to buy ammo?
I'm also your sons best friend.. If you can buy me some 22LR, .45, and .380 with a side of 9mm. See you later Mr.Txfire409!

Re: Range day for 3 teens.
Well done
btw, next time teach them to curl that weak hand index finger UNDER the trigger guard with the rest ... and lean forward a bit on their stance. Otherwise, good-lookin' grip/stance on all three.
Now, after your generous donation of time, ammo, expertise .... did they mow your lawn, wash your truck, stain the fence? something?

Some people actually shoot with their weak index finger on the trigger guard. I am one of them. Nothing wrong with my accuracy. Even some models have serrations there or indents to place your index finger there. Just saying..

Yup, me too. I have people telling me all the time that my grip is all wrong... I simply point to the target and say with a smile, "It appears to be working for me."

Thanks for taking them to the range and for posting the photos. The more young people we get to the range the better!

That must have been fun. The skeptic in me wonders if the other boys' parents knew what they were going to be doing.

Re: Range day for 3 teens.
Great day for your son and his friends. Lucky me, I took my grandsons 17, 14, 10 and a 11 year old friend to the range this afternoon along with my son. We shot several .22 rifles, .38 revolvers, .22 revolvers, Glock 22, and Sig 226. This was the boys first time with the Thompson "Tommygun" in .45 acp. They always enjoy a day shooting and it is a family favorite activity. My oldest grand daughter loves to shoot, but was busy with company--15 year old girls. . I did let the younger 2 help me replenish .45 ammo on the Dillon when we finished shooting.
BTW, I did not fire a round, but I get to the range any day I want. We thought the rain would spoil our day, but the sun came out about 11 and it was spring like.\

Re: Range day for 3 teens.
I taught them to do that. Why do you think most gun manufacturers make the front part of the trigger guard concave?A-R wrote:Well done
