New EDC

#1

Post by Longshot38 »

So after years of lugging around a full size 1911 I finally decided it was time to lighten the load a bit. After a bit of research a lot of hesitation I bought a Glock 30. I have never been a Glock fan but this offered the best magazine capacity for the size in 45 that I could find. Now that I have spent the past few weeks with this thing I'll say that I am starting to come around a bit. Even with the short comings of the pistol I think with a few modification I can make this something I'll be happy with for EDC. I've already changed the slide stop out for an extended version. And next up is some trigger work and night sights. What I'm still working on figuring out is the holster. I have a few on order and a DeSantis Cozy Partner sitting here. So hopefully by first of year I'll have the complete package operational.

With all that being said I am in need of some comparison. I am wanting to pick-up a nice tuckable IWB holster for this. At present Tucker and Garret sit on top of this list. How do these two maker compare?

I vote for tucker, I have the answer and the secret strike. Both very good. The answer is a great all day holster and the secret is great for taking on and off regularly.

I carry my G27 in a Galco Kingtuk, most comfy holster I've found. It's even better than the Galco Royal Guard. I now have a Kingtuk for almost all my carry pistols.

Congrats on the purchase!!! I think the G30 is a great choice for a cc gun, if you want a 45 acp.
