Bersa. Enough said. I wouldn't get one

Have the Bersa UC9 and love it. Have the Bersa 380CC and don't care for it.

If they'd have come out with it sooner, I'd probably own one back when I got my PF9 and PT709, but I don't. And, I carry a Glock 26 instead of a single stack now.

Other guns I'd have bought had they been out sooner were the Diamondback DB9 and the "STILL vaporware" Stainless Microtech Archangel MCP 9mm with rail and night sights and threaded barrel. Microtech Archangel weighs 7.1 ounces empty, and has a 2.32 inch long barrel, with a threaded barrel option a for a suppressor.

For what it's worth: I have had mine a few weeks. I've shot about 300 rounds through it. the only FTE's that I had were when my wife shot it and I believe it was her weak grip that caused it. I've shot rounds from hardball to JHP and +P with no issues myself. Sites are good but I will have night sites put on soon. It is a booger to take apart and put back together until you get the hang of it. The recoil spring is a bit different than I am use to and the slide is tricky putting back on. With that said, I love this gun. Fits great in my hand. Comfortable to shoot. Light weight. Eats up all ammo.

Bersa is decent quality for the money but I will never own another. I rather pay a little more and get more. As woodsong said I had a thunder. 380cc and had several problems with it. Of course the bashing will probably start now. Bersa owners don't like it when you give negative reviews.just my experience folks.

It might be an option for someone who can't find a shield (or as I call it the mythical unicorn). I held one and it was about the size and weight of a Pps with a mag extension. But Pps is a higher ballpark and quality Imo.

I have had a Bersa Thunder 9 (17+1) and a Bersa UC-9 (13+1) for over 2 years.

I have no experience with the BP9, so I can't speak of its characteristics.

So, here is my take on Bersa:

Early on, I had a couple of FTF's, but I was limp-wristing. Since then nary a problem with several hundred rounds through them - mostly the UC. To me, dis-assembly is straight-forward. They can shoot as well (if not better than) I. I scored a 247 on my CHL test. I would have scored higher but there was an extra bullet hole (in the white)on my target. That bullet came from the next lane over - that testee was not using a Bersa. So there! I am not one who spends a lot of time on maintenance of them. If a firearm needs constant detailng and cleaning, I don't want it. I prefer something more reliable. Every few weeks, I will do a cleaning or light oiling as called for. So far, neither of the Bersa's have not failed me. I am not trying to argue that any brand other than Bersa is junk. I am just saying Bersa has proven reliable for me. Would I consider a BP9? Yes, without a doubt, based upon my personal experience and if that model fits the various criteria that I desire. Would I consider other brands? Yes, without a doubt, if they fit my criteria.
