Another gun to add to my "I want that one" list...

Somehow I ended up on Kel-tec's website. And I saw their SUB2000 carbine. And I thought that was just a neat little thing. I know that it really wouldn't have a lot of use outside of 50 yards, but 9mm is pretty cheap and Glock magazines are plentiful. Anyone already own one, or used to own one? Any thoughts? BTW, this is NOT for serious business...I already have an AR and an AK, and a lever action in .357. So, I'm not looking to get it to do something it wasn't designed to do.

I had one. Traded it. Fun to shoot, reliable. Like other keltec products, it can feel a little cheap or clunky. The front sight is notorious for being a weak point.

Why I got rid of mine was simple. I couldn't think of a time I'd choose to carry it over a pistol that I wouldn't rather be carrying something in a rifle caliber.

That being said, I think it would absolutely SHINE as a home defense weapon for an elderly person or a petite lady who isn't fond of handguns or big heavy rifles and shotguns.

Since I'm neither, I got rid of mine.

I've been wanting the model that is chambered for 9mm and takes Glock mags for a few years. I'd buy one in a heart beat.

.... If I could ever find one in person, that is. :biggrinjester:

Had one a few years back, and I loved it. Like someone has said.. the only reason I got rid of it was because I was tired of having a rifle chamberd in 9 m, when I could have a rifle chambered in a bigger round. Sold it off to finance a Ruger Mini 14.

It made a great varmint gun.... and fun range gun. I loaded it up with some high pressure 9 mm rounds a few times and killed many a pig & coyote with it.

As noted, the front sight is a weak point... I put a decent 150 dollar red dot on it, and she was a fun gun to shoot.

Summary: Fun novelty, fun to shoot, decent varmint gun.....

I have one for that takes glock 19 mags, 1 10 round, 1 30 round mag (both glock made). Also have the keltec case and 1" stock extension. Has around a 200 rounds through it, great little gun but looking to fund a 10mm. Would take a sensible offer.......let me know if you wants pics.

From what I read they are reliable and accurate enough. But they are just so darn ugly I can't overcome the aesthetics enough to buy one. I have an HK94 clone and an AR in 9mm that I would take any day.

Awesome guns. I love mine, and would never get rid of it. I can easily put rounds in a pie plate, off-hand. at 100 yards. It shares mags with my carry pistol. My wife can put rounds in a 6 inch circle at 50 yards as fast as she can pull the trigger. It folds up and stores in a laptop bag. To me, its the perfect truck gun and a great home defense solution. With the capacatiy afforded it by large Glock mags, I'd reach for it before my shotgun in the middle of the night. I've got well over 1000 rounds through mine, with 1 FTE on some cheap crap ammo. I'll buy another one for the wife eventually.

According to Kel-Tec at the SHOT show, they have said they've opened up a new manufacturing arm to meet the demand of their current line of guns (RFB, KSG, PMR-30, etc.). We shall see. It will still take a couple months before we start seeing results. Right now, most wholesalers show a stock of "0" for all the Kel-Tec guns.

I bought one last year then resold it (at no profit) shortly after.
Someone here wanted it badly, and I never warmed up to it.

I'd probably buy another though. Something about breakdown/foldup guns appeals to me.
I also have a Keltec SU16A. Now THAT is a cool gun. Also have a Marlin Papoose.
The Keltec 9mm sort fit in the middle, but was not as nice as either.

I have one and love it. They can be found, around $400, on gunbroker every now and then. It's pros and cons have been mentioned already, and I agree with them. Mine is mostly home defense, but it's just so much fun at the range.
