The above link is to the home page of Academy. Click on "Weekly Ad" and maybe by the time you do
that they'll actually have the correct ad up for July 10-16, 2011.

There are 3 firearms for sale this week:

Taurus 1911, AL .45 ACP, Single Action, 8 + 1. I assume that this means the aluminum model. $529.99 Everyday price.

Para GI Expert, .45 ACP, Single Action, 8 + 1. $549.99 Everyday price.

Stevens 350 Pump shotgun, 12 gauge, 18.5" barrel, 5 + 1 rounds, 3" chamber, total length = 38.25", synthetic stock,
matte blue finish. $199.99 Everyday price.

This week's Academy ad seems unique in that it features two 1911's.

Happy shopping, shootists.

Actually, the website says "Steel/Alloy". Since it only weighs 33 oz, I'm betting that is a steel slide on an alloy frame.

My Kimber Custom Crimson Carry has an aluminum frame and weighs in at 31 oz. A steel-frame 5" 1911 should weight more like 38 oz.

Steel is an alloy. Otherwise it would be iron.
When in doubt
Vote them out!
