after about 3 months of deciding, I have finally bought a pocket sized weapon (yes, some carry bigger in pockets, but not me, not yet).
today I picked up a new SW Bodyguard .380 and a Mossberg 500 for home defense.
the wife thinks I'm nuts, but what else is new "rlol"

now I need to find a small pocket holster, any ideas, let me know please

And on the way home, I wanted to stop for a soda, and found an invalid 30.06 sign (yes, I posted it to Texas3006.com) at the Valero (Seller's Brothers) at Red Bluff and Bay Area Blvd in Pasadena
You can tell when looking at the blue sign next to it, the font size is way too small, at best 1/4 inch.

You may want to try stellar rigs for a pocket holster. I have one for my Kahr P380 and really like it but YMMV. Enjoy the new pistol.

That "sign" on the left always cracks me up, BECAUSE to get that ... they had to go to THIS PAGE
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administra ... osting.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Download language

Penal Code Section 30.06(c)(3)(B) further states that a sign must meet the following requirements:

includes the language described by Paragraph (A) in both English and Spanish;
appears in contrasting colors with block letters at least one inch in height; and
is displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public.

Please note that while the language provided above may be downloaded for convenience, it does not meet the requirements of Section 30.06(c)(3)(B) and may not be used as a sign.

You can even see the header/footer the browser added to the printed copy. Someone with better eyes than I may be able to read the date it was printed. :lol:

Looks like 2005, can't tell what month.

For pocket holsters, I just got a pocket holster from FIST Inc. made from "ultra thin kydex", which is indeed ultra thin but sufficiently stiff (more so than good leather). The thumb break works well too.

Teamless, Congratulations! Quick Question: I've been thinking of picking up a pocket gun, how does the S&W Bodyguard .380 compares to the Ruger LCP with CT laser? Any input would be appreciated. :fire

Congratulations on your new acquisitions. Seeing the sign you posted reminded me of a thread I started a while back about a theater which posted such signs on their doors at shoe level. Carry on! Thanks for posting this!

Posting a illegal 30.06 sign right next to a legal TABC sign that permits carry.
Seriously does someone that stupid need your money.

A minor correction, but the "legal" TABC sign is one that they are required to post by law. The "illegal" sign is not illegal, nor required. It is put up as an expression of the desires of the property owners. If you take the TABC sign to mean "CHL welcome," you are misreading the sign. It literally means nothing one way or the other to a CHL, just is a warning to non-CHLs that carrying there has an upgraded penalty so think twice.

So, I would not say it is stupid, except that they did not read the whole DPS page which tells them to not download it, but to use it to check the appropriate language on a properly prepared sign.

You could take the double posting as saying "We obey the law, warn you to, and do not want you here with a weapon, even if the law does allow it."

I haven't shot the TCP/LCP or even my new Bodyguard yet, so I cannot speak of how they shoot, but only how they feel in my hand.

The LCP/TCP both feel way too small for my hands. the Bodyguard seems to have just a bit more "meat" on it, for gripping

Choosing this weapon was not an easy process. It took me probably 3 months to decide on it, and this from a guy who decides to buy a car, will go to the dealership and buy a car without driving it (I have done this more than 1 time! - only with new cars however)

the drawback to the Bodyguard laser, is you have to use your index finger to engage the laser, vs with the LCP with CT, your grip itself engages it, and when you release your grip the laser turns off. I would have preferred the Bodyguard to have the action on the laser same as the CT, but I felt the trade off for what I think is a better gun is worth it.

Sorry I can't say more, but again, not having shot this one yet (next weekend) and never shooting an LCP/TCP, I cannot really compare/contrast them.

Sorry Sir, but it doesn't meet the legal font size requirement so I called it illegal, poor choice of words I suppose.

It is put up as an expression of the desires of the property owners.
Then they should acquaint themselves with the proper statutes and signage I guess.
and they WOULD NOT get my business.

If you take the TABC sign to mean "CHL welcome," you are misreading the sign. It literally means nothing one way or the other to a CHL :headscratch , just is a warning to non-CHLs that carrying there has an upgraded penalty so think twice.

Completely incorrect per TABC CHL are welcome http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/faq/general.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Establishments licensed to sell alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption or establishments licensed to sell for on-premises consumption whose alcohol sales are 50% or less of total gross receipts are required to post a sign that warns that the unlicensed possession of a concealed weapon is a felony.
The holder of a concealed handgun license may lawfully possess a concealed handgun on these premises.

So, I would not say it is stupid, Sorry "Stupid is as Stupid does" in my book/
except that they did not read the whole DPS page which tells them to not download it, but to use it to check the appropriate language on a properly prepared sign.

To me it reads, I can't follow the TABC code and I don't want citizens with CHLs to spend their money with me.

For their lack of attention to detail, I won't trust their shooting skills to protect me and mine.

I managed a Restaurant/Biker Bar that was <50% alcohol sales out in the Sam Houston National Forest and
our local TABC Agents, along with the easy to read code, allowed us to choose which sign we wanted.
Either The Felony licensed and unlicensed illegal OR the unlicensed carry permitted,
IF WE wanted our friends with CHLs to be able to carry when not drinking.

Sounds like the AMC 24 in San Antonio. They've got them at ankle level too.
