The HCGA Reliant show is May 14-15th.

There are some changes going on with promoters plus I think this is always a slack period.

High Caliber, which did not previously hold shows in Conroe, has a show there March 26-27th and again April 30-May 1.

They have Pasadena shows April 16-17th and June 11-12th.

Then they have a GRB show June 4-5th.

High Caliber also has not held shows at Reliant, but they have one scheduled for June 18-19th.

It appears that Saxet, which has been holding three shows a year in Conroe, may have withdrawn from this market.

Charles would know better, but I seem to recall notice ommissions in the past.

It might be that they require shows to pay for these listings or more likely, their listings simply may be incomplete.

I've always referred to the promoter web sites. There are usually other combined listings available. Until I search for them, I can't be specific, but Shotun News is one that comes to mind.

Looks like Conroe is the closest until May.

Check these links:

http://highcalibergunshow.com/Schedule.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In the late 90s I used to volunteer for the Stevens and Pruett Ranch, running the Gun Show promotions.
30 plus shows a year between Houston and Pasadena.

Todd Bean from High Calibre and Todd Bieter from Saxet are both great guys,
but I don't agree with 30.06 postings for CHL trespass.

Do you seriously think that all the vendors are leaving the show with thousands of dollars
and their remaining stock without a means to thwart an attack?

I can understand the reason they have the no loaded guns policy, but if I can carry in the
State Capitol then I believe we should not be disarmed.

I'm also saying that if you believe that there are no loaded guns at a show, you are mistaken.
I never carried (Received my CHL just last year) but I have personal knowledge of vendors who regularly did.

I refuse to be disarmed, so my money is not spent there anymore.

Shotgun News didn't list any in this area, but they require shows to be submitted to them.

Lots of shows here, but Houston is absent.

Houston area included here, including some not usually mentioned.

I noticed Alvin and Brazoria, which can be interesting.

:iagree:

Add the fact you can't buy a NIB handgun without violating the sign and the decision is easy.

Do they post anti-CHL in Conroe? That's one heck of a drive if I can't go in.
Conroe has always been put on by Saxet. The next ones are High Caliber.

But since all of the High Caliber shows in Houston and Pasadena have been posted, expect Conroe to be as well.

Makes no sense and its very hypocritical. Statement made by gunshow sponsors: "It is safe to the the surrounding public to carry everywhere but at a gun show." :headscratch

It is sort of like not being allowed to drive a car to an auto show because cars are inherently dangerous.. ;-)

Each of us must decide when to take a stand, but you should understand why shows are posted.

To rent a venue, the promoter must purchase insurance. The insurance requires the 30.06 posting.

Without the insurance and the required posting, there would be no gun shows.

When TSRA held gun shows in conjunction with their annual meetings, to obtain insurance, even the TSRA was required to post their show.

Thanks for the info Mike. Like you say its a "pick your battles" issue. At least we have relatively open gunshow laws here in Texas.
