Anyone have any experience with these. I would like to get one but haven't found one in a store to handle yet. Anyone know who might have one I could handle. How's the reliability? Im looking for a non traditional .22 to save on ammo cost. Not interested in the buckmarks and mark series pistols. Thanks

They were all over the place at the last few gun shows I went to. Around the $300 mark. Chiappa also just came out with a .22lr 1911 look alike for about the same money. Also look at the Walther p22 and Sig Mosquito for other offerings than the Buckmark and Ruger models.

It looks ridiculous to me. The Walther and Sig offerings will have a more useful crossover training utility.

Also look at some of the .22lr conversions for some of the popular handguns. Glock, Sig, CZ, and most 1911's have a .22 conversion available.

I don't know what part of the state you are in Astro99, but GT's has them in stock (well, last week when i was in their Austin store they did). You might stop by there if you want to look at one.

The GSGs get the best reviews. Overall they are not as well built as a Philippine 1911, but they are stout enough for .22LR.
Personally, I built a frame for a Ceiner slide kit, and it suits me fine. I have about $400 in that.

We have one at the Range for rental - $6 and you need to buy our .22 ammo. It's a good all-steel gun, including the magazine. The sights are good and it shoots well. It can be a little finicky with different types of ammo - Federal Auto-Pistol Ammo has proven to be the best.

In my quest to find a gsg 1911 .22 I came across a gun store on mason road. It's called tactical firearms. Their price was 25 dollars less than fountian firearms. And they had 12 in stock. Thanks for the help. The staff is very friendly an I will be picking one up on Friday range report to follow!

Well I went to go get my gsg from tactical firearms on mason and I was inquiring about tradin in my p-11 I asked the salesman what would be the trade in value on it and he told me only 75 dollars. Omg ! Well now I know where to not go to sell a firearm. Keep in mind that I only had 500 rounds through it and I had a houge grip on it and a pinky extention on the magazine floor plate. I ended up keeping it and just bought the gsg. Throughout the gsg sale the salesman looked very bothered by having to do the sale. It was not a very pleasurable experience. I will not be doing business there again. However I love this little .22 feels solid fit and finish are good and can't wait to shoot it.

Why would the sale bother him?

In case anyone else is looking for one, Aimsurplus has them in stock. They even have a railed, threaded barrel model that comes with a fake can for $349. Probalby $15 shipping and $10 transfer fee and you have a 1911 22lr setup for a suppressor.
