I'm thinking about buying a CW45 any of y'all have one of these?
I handled one at the Pasadena gun show a few weeks ago. Just couldn't make up my mind about it.

I have several options for CCW, but my Kahr P9 (not PM9) is almost always my first choice. It has never failed in any way. Slim, light, reliable. Any ammo. Any time. Perfect.

I have had a CW9 for almost 2 years now, and it became my edc (when not in the field with the SP101) after the first range trip. It has been totally flawless through 900+ rounds. If you do choose the CW45 (or any of the CW series), remember that you can, as of last January, have Trijicon tritium night sights installed (or DIY). Also, extra OEM mags can be found at most of the better gun shows for around $27, rather than the $40+ from Kahr. The guys with the Kahr 45's discussing them on the KahrTalk forum seem to absolutely love them. I have also considered adding a CW40 or CW45 to my collection, but I'm waiting for the new release of the CM9 to be available. It's a compact version of the CW9, and if they hold true to form, there will eventaully be a CM40 and CM45. My Kimber and Sig that used to be my edc's now stay in the deep dark recesses of the safe while the Ruger SP101 and Kahr CW9 have all the fun. Another thought to add, the Kahr trigger and SP101 trigger, as well as the basic manual of arms is very close in comparison. Point-clickbang-reholster. Simple.

I have three Kahr products (not the 45) and have been overly happy with them. I have no experience with the poly guns that they offer as all of mine are all stainless. For ease of carry, and reliability, Kahr is a great choice.

They are a bit on the expensive side, but my oldest 9mm, which is my go-to carry gun has performed perfectly for 10+ years.

+1 million for Kahr. I bought my K40 way back in 1996. I stopped counting how many rounds I shoot through somewhere it after 5000. The only failure I've ever had was due to me installing the recoil spring backwards, and that was over a decade ago. Great gun and my preferred EDC.

Buy it. Learn it. Carry it. The best thing the CW 45 has going for it is the conventional lands and grooves. The P45 I've been carrying for the past six years has ploygonal rifling .... consequently, it's not a good idea to shoot a steady diet of lead through it. Since I'm a reloader, lead would save me a LOT of money over the FMJ's I've got to use in the P45.

BTW, the CW45 barrel will not fit the P45.

Primary carry Kahr CW40, secondary SP101, third in line Kahr PM9 that I actually bought my wife she prefers her SP101's. I will most likely add the T,K, and MK40 to my stable. Why? Because I like the Tuperware Kahr's but like the bulk and durability of stainless for shooting. I like the product that Kahr puts out. I like their DAO trigger, never have had any reliability issues, stainless does not rust, heavier gun feels better and gets back on target easier due too less felt recoil. Will I keep the CW yes.

Wife had a CW40 - it shot ok but just didn't seem built nearly as well as our glocks. Passed down my G27 to the wife and the CW went bye-bye. The only reason she got the CW to begin with was the narrow grip allowed by the single stack design. She really wishes glock offered a g26/27 in a narrow single stack along the line of the g36.

Been carrying a PM 9mm for years now.
Never a problem.
I shoot it regularly, no probs.
Do go through the Kahr break in (~200 rnds) before you shoot.
IIRC mine took about 300 rounds to break in properly.

Only caveat is watch the disassembly and reassembly video on the Kahr website for their polymer frame guns I bent the slide release the first time I cleaned and reassembled the CW using just the manual instructions. Called Kahr and had a new one in three days no other issues. To speed break in I sat and racked the slide a couple of hundred times that first night while watching the boob tube, never one issue feeding or extracting. I have approximately 7 boxes of target and 2 boxes of carry ammo through both.

Well, not really the same gun because it is not plastic, but I have regularly carried a Kahr E9 for years. I love it. It is a beautiful gun and has performed well every time I take it to the range.

Quite happy with my Kahr K40 - reliable, accurate, great power-to-size ratio. The Kahr metal lowers seem to have fewer reliability issues reported than the polymer frame guns. I have a PM380 that I like but I wish the frame was metal.

I have a Kahr P-9, several years old at this point. Love the feel and concealability, great for a single stack 9mm.

Initially had a lot of troubles, failures to extract properly, with various kinds of ammo. It went back to Kahr, got some new springs and some polishing here and there.

Worked much better when it came back, but still fussy on ammo -- ejection port closes before ejected shell is clear when shooting higher velocity ammo (I chronographed a lot of ammo through it and could see where the troubles started). With the "right" ammo it does very well.

I used to read of problems like this with the polymer frames; people with K-models (all steel) didn't seem to have them. If I were to get another Kahr, I would get a K version (or their M-1 Carbine ). It may be that the polymer versions have been improved, I haven't read so many complaints lately. Of course I don't visit nearly as many gun boards as I used to.

I really want to like this pistol, I just wish it was not so finicky on ammo -- I think a combat pistol should be able to digest about anything. But I haven't sold it or traded it off, I like it too much.

I love my CW9. It is one I'll never sell.

I too love Kahrs but I have one too many.
