Basic Firearm Training for my wife - Houston Area

Hello all,

My wife and I just got back from visiting a local gun shop, and she has expressed an interest in learning about firearm safety and handling. I would like her to have 'expert instruction', and not just the information that I could provide her with.

I did a few forum searches, and I would like to find something similar to http://www.crossfire-training.com/conte ... class.html in the Houston area.

She is not interested in a CHL at this time but with the right training she may be. In any event, I think this would be a wonderful thing for the both of us.

Edited Subject title for clarity.

Nobody can beat Crossfire training, but check out PSC-Range.com in Friendswood. They have excellent instructors and facilities. I have attended several classes there.

Contact CompVest here on the forum. She has a GREAT handgun intro program for ladies! And she is in your area.

Thanks for the info.

PSC Range is a little far away as we live on the NW side of town. Houston is fairly large and I should have narrowed my area a little.

I will PM CompVest and see what she has to say.

I just saw another post regarding this range. http://guardiandefensive.com/index.php? ... &Itemid=75

Any women here (or anyone) with information regarding Guardian Defensive?

I would highly recommend CompVest. She runs ladies-only classes all over the metro area, but if you're on the NW side, the classes in Conroe (at Thunder Gun Range) would probably be ideal.
