IDPA Tonight... it's gonna be cold!

So, I'm going to my 2nd IDPA shoot tonight. I'm not letting the temperature keep me away. Hand warmers and gloves plus a heavy coat.
Anyone else coming? :)
This got me to thinking... are there shooting gloves ideal for handguns? I don't plan on purchasing them now (if ever), but curious if anyone has found any or has any they wear?

neither of you have location listed under your avatar - where are y'all located and where do y'all shoot IDPA?

Cool! I'll be there. I may be hard to see because I'll be in a big, heavy, camo jacket. :)
I'll be wearing a "BU" cap.

Houston area. West Houston IDPA at Impact Zone.
Edit: I just edited my profile so my location shows now. Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm in Katy. Impact Zone is north of Pattison, just a mite west and south of Monaville.

Good for you! I like that kind of spirit.
When I was shooting IDPA...9 times out of 10 I was acting as a safety officer. So IF we got to shoot at all...it was right at the end of the meet (or last person on a stage), and we'd usually be so frozen...that scores suffered dramatically.
The
shooter can often find ways of staying warm between stages, but S/O's are going to get cold, no way around it.
Anyway, have a good time, be safe!
Flint.

Got back. Good to meet you Skub!
It was a fun. It was only 4 stages because of the cold and we didn't draw either, so we could stay bundled up.
All in all, the cold never was a factor for me. I stayed warm and had fun. I ended up shooting fairly well. Better than I thought I did when I got to see the other scores.
Lots of fun. Good folks. Fun venue. Good practice.
For my 2nd time, I liked it. I am looking forward to being more familiar with all the stage types so I can think about shooting as opposed to what I'm supposed to do on each stage. hehe

Good to meet you, as well, G. I agree, it was fun, even with the cold.
Looking at the scores, I think you shot very well, second time, or not.
And, I know what you mean about becoming familiar enough with the routine of IDPA to be able to concentrate on the shooting. On the second stage, where we had to shoot 6 targets -
1. Near to far
2. Alternating right side /left side
3. 3 Strings
-1 Freestyle
-1 Strong hand
-1 Weak hand
I somehow mentally added one more requirement - I thought they all had to be head shots as well.
Nothing like making things harder than they have to be.
Oh, well. Still had a great time, and am enjoying getting to know some of the folks out there.

Ouch! That one was hard enough as it was!
I got confused on the dogs. I didn't shoot them in order, and just kept going back and forth. I didn't keep track of which target I had shot already, so I was all over the place. It was pretty funny to watch because I shot way too many rounds as a result. He finally asked, "Done yet?" :)
