Ruger's next new product, TBA monday 01-03-11
Rugerr just sent their daily spam to say the are going to announce a new must have firearm tomorrow. Since time is short, lets make some guesses as to what it will be. Mine are:
LCP in 9mm.
SR40C
or SR45
Edit, I got my Smith and Ruger products confused
Here's the link to the announcement for the announcement (long): http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com ... aPOE1dRbs=" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

uh I think you mean the SR-556, not the M&P, right? M&P is a Smith & Wesson product.
I don't see how they could possibly chamber the LCP for 9mm, but I can see them again copying Kel Tec and putting out a Ruger-branded PF-9 or something like that (which Taurus has already done with the 709 Slim and Sig will soon do with their new pocket 9).
I definitely think you're on the right track with something along the lines of a pocketable 9mm as the "next must have" gun though.
Totally off the wall guess ... Ruger is going to enter the home defense pump shotgun market with a gun that rivals the Mossberg 500 and Remington 870, it will be a 6-shot 18-inch barrel and come from factory with all the Mall Ninja add-ons (like the SR-556).

LCP in .50 Action Express;.
Pistol's butt is hinged to stay concealed under a sleeve, but a flick of the wrist and surprise!!!!!!!!!
30 round magazine sorta swirls helically around the wrist and forearm like an Ace bandage wraps, providing additional wrist support.

pocketable 9mm
Seriously something along the lines of a Microtech Archangel MCP (smaller, lighter than Rohrbach, but "vaporware" so far) would be great

Re: Ruger's next new product, TBA monday 01-03-11
I got two different emails confused. Smith is supposed to announce something very soon as well, and I know they are looking into an M&P in 22 as well as a .308 M&P (among others).
I know of a few toys Ruger has in the works as well, last report was that they were concentrating on designs of their own before expanding their line up with "outside" design sources. Interestingly enough I suspect that Ruger is working hardest on the 9mm version of the LCP, as they have already expanded the LCR line, and we have not heard a word about anything new for the LCP aside from a package that includes a laser guard and holster right out of the box. An SR45 is also on their must do list, although I think it is a lower priority than the "Concealed Carry" specific products.

Gotta be a 1911. Everyone has done it but Ruger.
Re: Ruger's next new product, TBA monday 01-03-11
My guesses:
60% chance 1911 Ruger, was leaked a bit, has been somewhat expect, seems like worth making good advertising for.
25% Something I have no idea about
14% SR45, many people like that gun but don't want it outside .45
1% SR40c, they didn't make this big of a deal out of the SR9c, and the advertising "Created the Next Firearm you MUST have" suggests it's something that is not a different version of a gun that already exists. Which is also why I put SR45 on the lower chance.
Personally i want to see the 1911, or something I have no guess on.

I think you all forgot that Ruger makes rifles also. And they don't make an AR platform yet. Since they already have .223 barrel making capability, this would be an easy switch for them. This would help revitalize their rifle lines also.
But I also like the idea of a 1911.

Oh well, I guess their rifle line needs more revitalizing than I thought. I forgot completely about that, thinking only of the mini-14 series. Thanks.
Make my guess a 1911 then.

I want one of those new M77-GS rifles...not sure how new they are, but i just found out about it two days ago. I thought that was their "new" gun for 2011. I think I'm a little late to the show for that one. lol

I just found out about it today. I think that is a pretty cool rifle, and I would want one except that they don't seem to offer a left handed version of it.pbwalker wrote:I want one of those new M77-GS rifles...not sure how new they are, but i just found out about it two days ago. My guess is also a pocket-9
It seems like everyone else is on the band wagon and Ruger is missing their piece of the pie.

A special edition Billy the Kid single action revolver to go with the special edition Coyote LCP.

Let's see, Ruger is in Arizona ...
Arizona is working on Campus Carry http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php? ... us#p487822" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Maybe it's a Campus Carry 2A commemorative for that Senator who introduced the bill.
(With optional Pink Grips for New Yorkers)
