I wonder if anybody out there likes a particular brand/model so much that they have both a full size (for home defense) and a subcompact (for concealed carry). I can also see equipping the full size model with a light or some such.

Maybe its a silly question, I was just wondering ...

I believe this can actually be a smart and beneficial thing.
Same controls, same safeties, in the same places.

Being familiar with one platform may be the best thing in a bad situation.
If you build muscle memory, then you don't have to think about which gun you're operating.

Same ammo.
BUT... if N, you go to the range, it could get alittle boring, shootin' the same ole' caliber ?! ( just saying )

Have a Glock in all three sizes. Share holsters, mags, same grip angle, trigger position and pull on each.

I almost excluded Glock owners from the post. Not to be a Glock hater or anything. But many Glock owners have mulitple models and we know how similar the models are.

I carry a Beretta Cougar 8000L and have a full size Beretta Cougar 8000F.

you can't legally exclude Glock owners from a thread unless you post effective notice in the thread using this exact language in extra large type.

I have and carry both a 3" 1911 and a 5" 1911.

The full size Bersa Thunder magazine fits the mini, so I might get a full size Bersa Thunder magazine for my mini. I hate that they changed the name from "Mini Thunder" to "Ultra Compact" because I associate the phrase ultra compact with the size of my LCP.

That's awesome!

At one point the only handguns I had were model 22/23/24c/27 Glocks.

I have a 3" 1911 and I'm sure that a 5" 1911 is in my not too distant future.
I could see myself owning multiple sizes of an XD.

Sure, the idea is sound. Similar conrol functions, grip angles, sights, whatever make it familiar regardless of which size you're shooting.

PX4 is available in 3 sizes. HK P30 and P30L are also available

Forgot to add, I was also in a S&W DAO mood for a while as well.

3953 and 4546

Both with the short DAO trigger.
Both with Novaks.
Both with 8rd mags.
