For anyone who would like to buy a new gun, but maybe
doesn't have the money all at once, there are at least 2
pawnshops of which I am aware that sell brand new guns
on the layaway plan. There must be others, so feel free
to add any you know of in your neck of the woods.

PLANO, Texas (Collin County).
Parkway Jewelry and Loan Pawn Shop
4006 West Plano Parkway, Suite 135
On the corner of Coit and Plano Parkway.
http://www.parkwayjewelryandloan.com

This store is run by the 3 Patterson brothers Greg, Kerry, and Roger.
For anyone in DFW that listens to country station KHYI, 95.3 FM (The Range)
Greg Patterson is the DJ there on Friday and Saturday nights.

Today I spoke with Roger P. He said that customers could choose the exact model of
new gun that they want, they will buy the gun and hold it on layaway. It's 20% down at
the beginning of the transaction, then take up to 6 months to pay off the 80% remainder.

Example: $600 gun + 8.25% sales tax = $649.50.
20% down = $129.90. Leaving $519.60.
5 payments of $103.92 each or 6 payments of $86.60 each.

TOMBALL
Tomball Pawn. I know that they sell new guns at good prices, and you can use layaway.
I'll leave USA1 to fill in more details.

Layaway isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it's kind of an enforced savings program with
a delightful new gun at the end of the short payments.

I've bought firearms from Tomball Pawn on layaway and have nothing but good things to say about them. Also Champion Firearms in College Station also has good prices and a 90 day layaway. They also have year round 0% financing.

Mainland Pawn in La Marque, TX also does layaway. I think for 90 days, not sure. They are on Hwy 3 near FM 1765. I've heard that even some from La Marque PD frequent there.

Ye sir, I currently have a Kimber on Layaway at Tomball Pawn. Not only did I get it for $679.00 , but I took advantage of their 90 day interest free payment plan after paying the 20% down. To tell you how nice those folks are, if at any time I see another gun that I like better, they will let me transfer any money that I have paid towards a different gun.

Another place that most people don't know that offers Layaway is Collectors Firearms. I've used their service as well.

What's the advantage of doing layaway instead of sticking the money in an envelope at home? You don't get the gun any sooner, do you?

No, but it keeps me from dipping into the envelope. ;-)

In my case, Tomball Pawn has some guns that they get in and sell it the same day.
I had to jump on the Kimber deal and reserve it while they had it because they don't
keep more in the back and there was no telling when the next one would come in.

On some of the nicer guns their inventory changes daily but the run of the mill guns
seem to always be in stock.

You mentioned Collectors Firerarms. Is this a website?
If so, what's the exact web addy?

If it's a bricks and mortar store, where are they located?

Thanks, friend.

That's correct. Over 10,000 guns, from the latest and greatest to very old and rare collectibles.

At Carter's you can do no interest for 6 months year round or for 12 months in July and December, and you get to take the gun home the day you "buy" it. So, yes, sometimes you do.

I know some around here in the Georgetown area do it too. Probably a lot around the state do, doesn't hurt to ask. At least it holds the gun til you get it paid.

I do not believe in layway, nor credit card gun purchases (i.e financing on credit cards). Either you have the money to spend on your hobby purchase or you just keep saving.

Just say no to credit cards! Have you heard about 30% interest rate for those who are have 700 credit score?! Just incomprehensible :banghead: .
