Orlando makes the news again. NRA instructor has loaded handgun in class contrary to both NRA rules and common sense. Student's foot struck by unintended discharge. How not to further the cause. :rules:

Sounds like the instructor was NRA certified for something, but they don't certify them for CHL classes. :headscratch
I am guessing he was a basic pistol instructor and should have known better.

Sounds like the church is now gonna be off-limits not only to classes, but to concealed carry. I would bet others follow suit put up signage too. :banghead:

Frauman was one of three students in the class, which was not a church-sponsored event, Lawley said. She said the church offered an upstairs conference room for free after some church members requested to have the class there. Lawley said the church is empty on Saturdays and this was the first class of its kind there.

"We won't be having anything like that in our church in the future," Lawley said.

No kidding, right!?!?! :banghead:

In Florida, an NRA Basic Pistol class suffices for the shooting qualification for their concealed weapon license:

They don't have the kind of state-supervised course that we do.

<opinion>Yet another firearms owner who thought that safety rules did not apply to him. :mad5 </opinion>

On the other hand, if one were tempted to use humor about a situation that was and is not
funny, one could say that this instructor's students got a very effective and lasting lesson in gun safety without a life being lost.

So correct. I have 3 churches that have given permission to teach in their fellowship hall as soon as I get through certification this summer.

The above quote was funny!!!! Now, the not-so-funny. I have seen the words "accidental" and "unintended" used to describe this. Shouldn't we be using the word "NEGLIGENT"!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds WAY more like "truth in journalism" to me!
