With a name like "Hunter", how could you go wrong.

Most people use their index finger on the trigger. Looks like Hunter is trying a new technique using the back of his off-hand thumb. I just may have to try that. Could keep me from pushing my shots left on that draggy AR trigger. :biggrinjester:

Welcome and tell Hunter we all said hello.

thanks for the warm welcome guys! i look forward to spending lots of time on here. :)

what's great about this pic is that right after we took the pic, he was like "Daddy, can i shoot it???!!!" we immediately packed up and went to the range. he has a twin sister (Alexys) and she went as well. both of them shot the rifle. i've never seen them pay so close attention to me when i was telling them to do stuff. they loaded the gun, although they couldn't pull the charging handle back, made sure it was on safe, aimed downrange and squeezed the trigger! my son was a bit scared at first because that recoil compensator on the end makes it REALLY loud, but after a minute, he shot the entire magazine.

my daughter on the other hand, just started pulling the trigger and didn't stop till it went CLICK! she's definately my daughter :)

Your son looks like a great kid, but you are in deep, deep trouble!

My son just turned 20 years old 6 days ago. I started him shooting at age 6 or 7 with a single shot .22 rifle. Today, his collection consists of:
  • a Ruger M77 MkII All Weather bolt rifle in .308
  • a Savage 10FP-HSPrecision in .308
  • a Rock River Arms 24" Stainless Varminter
  • one of the nicest home built AR15s I've ever seen
  • a Mossberg 500 riot gun
  • a Springfield M1A Loaded
  • a Taurus PT1911AR
  • a Kimber Pro Raptor II
Plus, you know how it is with sons... he's pretty sure what's mine is his too. :smilelol5: I don't know how much you earn, but whatever it is, you better plan on doubling it.

Our son is also left handed and right-eye dominant. He originally learned to shoot left handed on everything. Switched to right handed in JROTC when the rifle team coach discovered his eye dominance. (yah, he made the rifle team.) End result, he's now a competent ambidextrous shooter no matter what the platform, & is one of the few agents in his BP unit with his level of experience to actually have the right to check out an M-4 on duty.
