New Part Time Carry Weapon

#1

Post by tex45acp »

I really enjoy conceal carrying my semi-autos, but once in a while I have the urge to carry a revolver and most of mine are a bit too big or I cant find an IWB to fit them. A few months ago I bought another Ruger SP-101, except that this one had a 3" barrel. I like that a little better that the 2" version....it just balances better for my grip. About two weeks ago I was wandering through a gun/pawn/tool shop near me and found a real jewel. It is a S&W K frame Model 65-5 3" .357mag revolver. It is one sweet gun and in about 98% new condition. It has been modified, either by S&W Custom or a really competent gunsmith to be DAO and the hammer spur has been immaculately removed. The trigger has been worked over and is as smooth as butter with much lighter thatn factory pull. It came with a set of new Hogue finger groove grips, that were nice but I prefer a nice wood so I replaced them with a bueatiful rosewood finger groove. I am wearing it right now in a Goodrich & Gould OWB holster that came with the gun. I had forgotten how nice it was to carry a revolver.

Here's the revolvers:

It's purty.. It's even shiny enough that I can see the reflection of your arm and watch on the side of it.

ETA: Love those grips too!
