Bargain 10/22s at Dicks

#1

Post by Rex B »

I looked at the Dick's Sporting Goods ad in Sunday's paper, and spotted a genuine bargain:

Ruger 10/22, stainless/synthetic stock $119.95 after $10 rebate.

That's an even $100 error.

I know that's a typo, and as a guy that makes up this sort of ad flyer as part of my job, I know somebody's sweating bullets over that one.
I'm curious if anyone has raced down to the local Dick's and tried to buy one. I would like to know how they handled it.

If its advertised they should own up to it and sell them while they have them in stock. Even though we all know they will not honor the advertised price...we all make mistakes. That is what reminds us we are all human.

They probably have a disclaimer that says they aren't responsible for print errors. :banghead:

Just looked in the color flyer that came in my Sunday paper . . . big ad for a store grand opening at "The Domain" shopping center, but no 10/22s listed.
Original CHL: 2000: 56 day turnaround
1st renewal, 2004: 34 days
2nd renewal, 2008: 81 days

The only .22 in my ad at that price was a Marlin.

Went to Dick to see if they would sell me one but they were out. Instead I grabbed an ad and went to acedemy and they price matched !!!! I now have my 3rd 10/22 that cost me $129 out the door.

Good for you!
Wish I'd thought of that.

Actually, you should give me the gun since I tipped you off to the deal
