Happy New Gun Day!

Post by nitrogen »

They tell you the FIRST gun you should get is a .22. I'm a contrarian, and finally got a Browning Buckmark yesterday.

Put 100 rounds through it and so far I love it.

Anyone of you folks have one, and know any neat things I can do with it?

My wife has one, and she lets me shoot it when I've been good.

You got the Tru-Glo sight. Good move. The pistol is as accurate as your hands and eye can make it.

You can put on wood grip stocks if you want. They're sold on eBay.

You will want to get an Ultimate Cliploader. It loads magazines in one twist of the wrist. Cost about $25. It's slicker than spit on a glass doorknob.

Other than that, I'm not sure what you mean by "do with it." Shoot. Teach people to shoot.

I love mine. It paid for itself when I was shooting Turkey Shoots! Very accurate and fun to shoot.

I wavered back and forth for months between the Buckmark and the Ruger Mark II/III. I finally went with the Ruger, but I still want the Browning.

They are really nice and fun little shooters. As for "what you can do" with them, that was one of the reasons I went with the Ruger first. There are more options for them. But as a place to start, Check out the Trail-Lite options for your little friend. (found here: http://www.tacticalsol.com/store/pc/home.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )

Above all, have fun and be safe.

Personally I don't see any reason to change a thing on mine. It is perfect as is. I supposed a gold trigger for some glitz - wait it already has one!

Nice gun. :thumbs2:

That's my next project - I haven't decided if I want a Buckmark, Ruger Mark III 22/45 or a .22 conversion kit. Something for target practice to keep the cost of the .45's down.

As far as thing you can do with it, google "Heggis Flip". This is a simple little mod wherein you flip the trigger spring over and it lightens the already excellent trigger. I did this to mine and it is sweet. The trigger may be too light (about 2.5 lbs) for your tastes after it, but it's just as easy to reverse.

you can install a heads up sight, red dot, or other optic on a top rail.
