Blazer "Brass" Ammo

I was in WalMart yesterday buying some ammo when I noticed they had some CCI Blazer "Brass" ammo. A box of 50 9mm was $5.00. I pulled a cartridge out and looked at it. The cartridge itself looked real thin and not symetrical. It appeared that it was almost tapered. I was concerned that it might not feed properly. Anybody have experience with these? $5 a box is tempting, if its a good round.

I've run a couple of boxes through my Glock. It seemed to shoot like anything else. Didn't have any problems. I admit that I didn't examine any fired cases.

I've shot more than 1000 rounds the aluminum stuff in the glock, but would much rather shoot brass for no other reason than to be nice to reloaders. Especially if it's $5/bx.

Dad & I shoot Blazers.
The 9mm stuff is good. We rarely get jams.

I've run at least a thousand rounds each of Blazer Brass & Alum and never had a single failure. Of course that is through a Glock, which digests pretty much anything fed to it. Don't know if it would be reliable to reload but at $5.00 a box I see little reason to reload.

I've shot literally thousands of rounds of both aluminum and brass Blazer through both of my XD's...only had one ammo related failure, a failure to fire due to a bad primer. And that was an aluminum round.

$5.00 a a box for Blazer brass is a heck of a deal. That's the same price that Academy sells the aluminum Blazers for. I usually try to stay away from Wal-Mart but I might have to make an exception in this case.

The 9mm is tapered slightly. Good eyes!! It is nothing to worry about.

I took 200 rd of the blazer brass in trade (.45 not 9mm) & it went through my 1911 fine. Reloaded it & they looked good to. I would think the 9mm would be the same. Go for it.

Bought the Blazer

I went back to WalMart and bought a couple of boxes of the 9mm. I either need new glasses or I picked out a bad round yesterday. These look just fine. I hope to try them out soon. If they work as well as others are telling me, I'll be buying more. This is first time I have seen Blazer Ammo of any type at the Walmart in Rockwall. I hope they continue to carry the Blazer Brass.

Hopefully we can go soon, and help you set those little guys free!

Concerning the CCI Blazer rounds, the guy we went to the Terrell range with the other day orders the aluminum Blazers by the CASE from Academy. They'll be fine...

I've shot the CCI Blazer Brass in .45ACP. Nothing special to report when compared to WWB. I do like the CCI Blazer Aluminum. It makes my range bag so much lighter! 10 boxes of ammo makes my bag heavy.

Was in Walmart today and checked the price on 9MM. Would you believe $4.63 for WWB?

Blazer Brass for .45 ACP was $9.67

Richmond Wal Mart doesn't (yet) display Blazer Brass.

I don't have to order them here. They nearly always have a few cases behind the counter.

Yes! Would you believe that, according to my local WalMart sporting goods counterperson, they only order 10 boxes at a time? They are ALWAYS out around here at the 3 WalMarts I visit. If you find some, grab it!
