Finally, I think I'll be free to go this Sunday... to my _FIRST_ IDPA match!
I hear too many good things about IDPA that I must try it. The location is at Texas Tactical Range, which is about 40 minutes from Austin (and 1hr from where I live).
If any experienced person (or inexperienced, like me) want to carpool, share IDPA trade secrets, showoff guns, etc... let me know!
(A couple of months ago I posted something similar, but ended up not going because wife wanted me to stay home. But this time I'm almost positive that I can go.)
Anybody going to the IDPA match this Sunday near Austin?

I live in the Galveston area, but I do plan on attending the match on August 6. I don't know anything about this club.....good bunch of folks for a beginner to hang with and get some experience??
Take care.

I would love to go BUT work says otherwise for this weekend. The last time I went it was lots of fun! Don't worry about being a first timer, they are very patient and helpful.
They will walk through each stage and show you how it should be handled, then the more experienced will go first so you can see it.
Take a chair and some water!

Hey, Jbirds1210, I might just be able to make that shoot.jbirds1210 wrote:<snip> I do plan on attending the match on August 6. <snip>
I ended up missing last weekend's match when we decided to take our son to schliterbahn. Well, at least I had a great time in a different way.
Hopefully I'll be able to try out IDPA one of these days.

Too bad you missed it, I heard it was a good one, but very HOT! I'm usually there, but was in N. Texas this past weekend at the North Texas Regional, and it was HOT up there too. :)
Texas Tactical is run by a great man, Mike Webb. And he has a great group of SOs that help with the match, and help new shooters learn the sport. I highly recommend the trip for both experienced and beginners.Ryan
