Cabela's Ft. Worth handgun sale 9/17-27. Buda too?

Post by surprise_i'm_armed »

Cabela's is having a weapons sale from September 17-27. The circular I get
says "Fort Worth" only, but last time they had a sale, I believe the Buda store also
had similar or exact deals.

They are selling long weapons as well.

Here's the handguns. I hope someone is pining for one of the guns listed and the price is OK.

Beretta 92FS, 9mm, 2 mags, $549.99
Colt SAA cowboy style revolver, .45 LC, $1,219.99
CZ 75B, 9mm, 2 mags, $479.99
Glock 17 & 22 RTF, 9mm or .40, 2 mags, $499.99
Sig Sauer PRO, 9mm, has night sights, $499.99
S & W Sigma, 9mm or .40, 2 mags, $379.99. Way overpriced IMHO.
Springfield XD, Dark Earth, .40, 2 mags, $519.99
Springfield XD, OD Green/Stainless slide, .40, $549.99
Springfield XDM, 9mm, 4" barrel, multiple backstraps, $609.99
Taurus Model 94 revolver, .22, 4" barrel, $349.99
Taurus 85 Ultralite, .38 revolver, hammerless, $299.99
Taurus 24/7, OD Green, 9mm or .40 , 2 mags, $379.99.

SIA
N. Texas LTC's hold 3 breakfasts each month. All are 800 AM. OC is fine.

These aren't too bad a prices, but the High Caliber gun show is this weekend at the Will Rogers in Ft. Worth and you might be able to get a little better deals than these.

I don't know why no one ever gets the barrel length on the XDM right. It only comes in 4.5" but I regularly see it listed at 4". You'd think the folks selling them could get that right.

You can find the Buda store's sale flyers on the Cabelas web site. If you look under retail stores and click on the map for the Buda location the flyers are listed.

None of those prices are worth the 70+ mile round trip for me.

Cabelas ft Worth had some decent deals on some used handguns for a change

Bearcat (nice) $299 (I bought this)
AR24 Armalite $399
Bersa 380 $199

Also bought a Marlin Papoose .22, on sale for $219, best price I've seen on a gun I've been wanting

They sure were short-handed on the counter though.
Apparently the flu has a lot of people out there.

That seems to be a good price on the Bersa .380.

Too bad no one's got any .380 ammo so you could actually go to the range. :-)

They also had many boxes of .380 Buffalo Bore, in several configurations.
It was $21.99/25 IIRC.

they also had reloading dies in .380, which I bought.

Well, I got the Cabela in the Austin newspaper yesterday, so I would guess the Buda store is having the same sale. Wish they had a bigger selection of Glocks on sale. I am hankering for either a 26 or 29.

Those prices are decent for Cabelas but I found the Glock 17 & 22 RTF models at the last Ft Worth Original gun show for $459.

The one that caught my eye, seeming to be a pretty low price,
was the Taurus 85 for $299.99.

For someone's BUG this seems pretty good for a NIB gun.

Has anyone shot a Taurus 85 series and have an opinion about it?

Since I have a semi-auto, I'm considering getting a revolver for a BUG,
just to see how the other half live.

$299 is an excellent price for a Taurus 85. Is it an ultra light or a standard? I have one and like it. It is my "all the time gun." If loaded wilth some good +p 125-135 gr hollow points or the +P 158gr SWCHP you're good to go.

MoJo:

It was the ultralight.

I was on the Taurus site the other night looking at 85's but I could not make a match
with the Cabela's ad. All the 85 series have a longer model number that begins with "85"
and then has multiple characters after.
