Some new toys and ammo arrived Friday so a buddy and I made time for some "playing" late yesterday. We both got acquainted with the new compact via some stand-up shooting before chronographing each of the following 10mm loads with 5-shot strings of Double Tap.
135 grain JHP: 1,481 fps
165 grain Gold Dot: 1,302 fps
180 grain Golden Sabre: 1,247 fps
200 grain XTP: 1,137 fps
220 grain cast: 1,028 fps
Accuracy with all of the loads was quite acceptable, with the 220 grainers actually producing the tightest group (altho admitedly it was shot last - after I'd got re-acclimated to the Glock trigger.)
Function-wise, all ran 100% reliably except the 180 grain Golden Sabres, where the very last round in the magazine failed to feed each time ...
A .40 S&W barrel for the 29 is supposed to be on the way from Bar-Sto. Hopefully it will be in for us to do some more "playing" next weekend with Buddy's 180 grain FMJ handloads. (He shoots a .40 Sig with a barrel only about 1/8" longer than the 29.) We've got buckets of .40 brass to reload - and obviously gonna be workin' on building up a supply of 10mm.
Overall, the fps out of the G29 averaged being 104 less than what Double Tap publishes from the full size Glock 20 (1" longer). But, I'm still quite pleased with the new aquisition. It is likely far chunkier than I'll opt to carry regularly in the concrete jungles, but hopefully a good hog-puncher. And maybe, just maybe, the last Glock I'll ever really, really "need".

Chas - My pleasure. :)
HV - Maybe one of these days. It's a small hassle to set up the chrono, so we usually try to plan in advance at a time when hopefully others will not be needing to use the (only 2-position) range. But, when someone with a Freedom Plan does happen to show up, they usually want to chrono what they've brought!
The FTFs with the Golden Sabres bothered me, so I intentionally tried to make it happen again today and, with a differnt magazine, they all ran fine ...
