Father's Day

Standing in view of the creek in Centerville, Texas, shooting at a dragonfly with a Ruger Mark I pistol. The younger set of eyes was able to make the kill after a great deal of jest and laughter. What an amazing memory to kick back and think about early in the morning on Father's day.

I inherited my passion of firearms from my Dad! I tell my wife at least once a month that "I came by it honest" and she is unable to argue with me. We have very different tastes in guns, he is a SASS shooter and actually carries a single action Colt to the grocery store concealed! I might not agree with him, but I will never change his mind.

I am one of the lucky people who gets to spend the day with his father...I cherish that. I hope one day to pass on the same values and traditions. By the way...the dragonfly tournament was last Wednesday!
Happy Father's day to all of you dads! You are the most important person in the world to someone!

Jason and his Dad really are shooting buddies, you seldom see one on the range without the other, I saw them there yesterday but didn't have time to do more than say hello.

Excellent post!

I mailed out a hilarious card and a special forces biography to my dad this week.

It's actually an EXCELLENT read if you guys are interested in war books.

It's called "Masters of Chaos" and its about the ODAs in army SF. Tracks them through different wars including both Iraqs and tells some cool stories.

Happy Father's Day to all!

My father is coming over today. My wife is making "build your own poor boys".

He is truly my life's hero. Although far from perfect, he is a good, honset, hard working, family loving, kind to others, brave man. It is my desire that I learned those traits from him.

My 10- year old daughter made him a CD for today. She made it by herself and it has a greeting card and a small movie that she made on her cheap little camera. He is a wonderful grandfather.

The kiddo just brought down a huge cardboard box with wrapping paper that she made, and it contains something she made for me.

I think today will be a good day.

Happy Fathers Day to all you Dad's.

I am at work at the Fire Station, but the wife and kiddo came and ate dinnner with me and brought presents.

My father is certainly my hero. He is an honest, hard working, CHRISTIAN, fun loving man that loved his family more than anything and ALWAYS put us first. He was not a gun guy like alot of guys, but he taught me to shoot a .22 rifle and taught me good honest gun safety as a kid. I think he is more into guns now (though he owns none now) than earlier. Might get him into a CHL sooner or later. I am blessed to have him close by. Thanks DAD!

Had a great day today reloading some .45 Colts with my son. Then Wednesday, my son and I will be going to End of Trail with my dad. We decided one day is just not enough for Father's Day.

Well I am proud to say this is my first Father's Day as a father. My 9mo old daughter gave me a big kiss today, or she might have been trying to eat my nose, but it is wonderful just the same!
