Belt Question

Here's a question about a belt I am trying to find.

For lack of a better description, it's like the one that 'Walker, Texas Ranger' wears on the tv shows.

Western style black leather, silver slip through buckle, silver tip and silver belt loop.

I want something thick enough to wear everyday for concealed carry, but with the above style. Kydex or polymer insert might be nice also.

Can anyone point me in a direction ?

I sure would appreciate any links in this direction !

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Same people that make the "Answer" holster.

Check out any of the leather holster makers for GOOD gun belts. They all offer something a bit different. See which price / style works for you.

For less expensive, I like Galco and The Wilderness, but neither of them is as fancy as what you are wanting.

You might be able to buy the buckle of your choice, and have a gun belt made for it. A good Western wear store would have the buckles - they're sold separately from the belts. Cavender's stores are everywhere...

If I remember right, isn't that style even called a "Ranger belt"? I agree a good, high quality boot store would be the place to go.

I just got a custom sharkskin belt made. I love it. It's 1 1/2" wide but tapers in front to 1 1/4" to make bending over a bit more comfortable. It's 3/16" thick and is pefect for all my holsters. It really makes a huge difference and plasters my holster to my side. I no longer find it difficult to carry my full size Beretta anymore. Here's a pic. It's from Rafter S Gunleather. The mathcing sharkskin holster is also fromm Rafter S Gunleather and their prices are excellent.

If you have any connections to prison employees.....it is the cheapest way to get quality stuff exactly the way you want it. Custom made for a fraction of the cost!

Thanks folks.

I settled on a 1 1/2 inch wide plain black ranger belt from Durango leather:

Made and delivered in 2 to 2 1/2 weeks, total cost of $106.00

Now on to my next project..... a new Para Ordinance 45 ACP with a 3 1/2 inch barrel. Time to go study the different models !

I like my Kimber Ultra Carry II just fine, but I'm kinda leaning towards a double action 45. As an old wheel gunner, I tend to favor DA a little more.

Decisions, decisions......

I have the C7-54 (LDA model) and I love it for CCW work.

age_ranger,

Nice rig. I have a belt form RafterS and really love it. I like that it has 7 closer spaced holes instead of the usual 5. Makes for finer adjusting. After a good meal you can still let your belt out a bit without loosing your gun and pants.

I screwed up and I should have ordered a size or two larger for my IWB. Still, it fits. I'm on the second to last or sometimes last hole, but a little weight watching on my part should cure that. OR< it's a great excuse to buy another!!!

Wt loss, if you really are too big will help a lot. I will be an encourager for that. I dropped 40 ablout 3.5 yr ago. I really feel better & refuse to go back. The "right hole" on my belt is the 1st indication that I need to get rid of a couple LBS now. Never yet had to say,"Hey, wife, believe I can add a couple pounds in the next week cause the belt is getting a little loose."
