Looking for anyone that has one or has at least shot one. I'm looking for a deep concealment/lightweight summer carry weapon while maintaining big bore performance. They are HARD to find right now. Pricey little son of a gun though.

I own a PM9, the little brother to the PM45, but I've had the chance to shoot a PM45 as well. Other than the obvious differences in size and caliber, they are very similar. I'm a firm believer in the width of the pistol being the most important for concealability, so these are a great option. I like the trigger on the Kahr better than my Glock and have found the Kahr line to be incredibly accurate. They aren't cheap, but they're fantastic pistols in my opinion. Let us know what you think when you find one.

If you are an NRA instructor or RSO you can get them at a substantial discount. I am assuming they still have their instructor program, I haven't checked this year but they had it the last two years.

This is what I carry daily. It's not the PM45, as you can see. I sure do like it though.

I have not shot a PM45 but have seen several at all the gun shows, I think they were around 550.00 to 625.00. As I have said many times on here I love my PM9.

I have a Glock 36 It's the single stack .45 you are welcome to shoot it (if you have the ammo) and the PM9 if you'd like to compare.

I have a Kahr MK9 and Glock36 for CCW. Both are excellent pieces, and getting harder to find everyday....

There were a couple there, but not the one I am looking for. I want the all black model with night sights. I'm just picky like that, especially if I am going to pay that kind of money.

I have shot s friend's Glock 36 many times and have considered buying it, but it is only slightly smaller than my G19. The PM45 is more like what I am looking for size wise. I have also shot the PM9 at DFW Gun Range. We were trying out several guns so my wife could decide what she wanted for her CHL. I always thought they were over priced but turns out my opinion has changed since shooting them. They are great little guns for deep, lightweight concealment. I would have already bought the PM9 but the recoil was a little stiff for my wife to be comfortable with it. She ended up loving the G26 so that's what we got for her.

The offer to shoot is much appreciated.

Meaning no disrespect at all, but if PM45s are so hard to find and pricey to boot, but you want a tiny big-bore, why not buy a 3" 1911 like a Kimber Ultra, or a Colt Defender? They're not cheap either, but they seem to be available.

No problem on the offer. For what it's worth I have yet to see the all black model in the wild with or without night sights

I bought the original PM45 with the two tone finish almost a year ago, and installed aftermarket Trijicon night sights on it. I have put several hundred rounds through it so far. IMHO, it has a good trigger, functions completely reliably, and is easy to shoot.

As you would expect, due to it's very light weight it recoils more than subcompact 1911's in the same caliber with more metal in them. I prefer large caliber handguns in general, so I don't find that to be a significant issue, but some might find the recoil a bit stout. The design wraps a solid defensive caliber in a small, light, easily concealed package that's hard to beat, and makes a fine "mouse gun" that carries enough punch to handle rats.

I do have some concerns about the durability of the fairly soft polymer frame in the rail area, which shows some wear already, so it wouldn't be my choice for putting 300 or so rounds through twice a month. For my purposes it's a very good solution for the "carried a lot, shot a little" category.

Another good choice is the S&W 457. I use this and while it is a larger than the Kahr, it is utterly reliable. I had mine accurized by Novak and nite sights installed.

I already have a Kimber Ultra Carry. It is what I carry 90% of the time but in the really hot parts of the year, I still have to dress around it. The Kahr is probably 1/3 smaller than the UC and almost half the weight.
