The UPS man arrived this afternoon with not one, but two packages.

The first was the slide off my Ultra Carry II coming back from Kimber's custom shop for the installation of glow in the dark night sights. I have had them on my Glocks and decided to have them put on the Kimber also.

The second package was the new Crimson Trace LG 404 laser grips for the Ultra Carry size of 1911. Very nice ! Front activation button instead of the side buttons like the older LG 304 models, very easy installation and they work like a charm. A little wider than the black rubber grips that came on the UC, but with big hands, I actually like the way they feel better that the factory grips. That puts lasers on all my pistols except my S&W Model 60 snubby, and I'll start saving now for the smaller version that Crimson Trace just came out with for better concealed carry than the older model like I have on my 640.

I prefer the Crimson Trace steady laser instead of the pulsating version like the Lasermax I had in my Glock 30. Maybe it's getting older and eyes are not what they used to be, but the steady laser dot seems easier to make out, especially in a multi colored or color rich target environment.

Found them on e-bay from a dealer I have purchased from before.... again, he made me a really good deal, even in the 'buy it now' mode.

I have a pair on my S&W 340PD that I carry in my front pocket as a back up. I really like them. I do not know if I would like it on my 1911 or not.
