Anybody check out the show at Maude Cobb today? I got there about 9:30 a.m., about 30 minutes after opening, and folks were backed up out the door and down the side of the building waiting to get in. I almost turned around and went back to my truck, but I paid my $7 and waited in line. The good news is, the line to get in went fast, but once inside, it was wall to wall people. It was a frenzy inside, people everywhere. From what I saw, ammo was the big seller...very few folks buying guns.
It was the shortest time I have ever spent at a gun show. You absolutely couldn't see half of what was there. I think a few of the people there could hear the "black helicopters" circling. I heard one dude one his cell phone saying something to the effect of, "...well, you know he's only been in office a month, I'm not taking any chances...time is of the essence...you know things are going to get bad..." and blah, blah, blah, blah.
Now I'm not happy about the election outcomes either, but when will this madness peak? AAAggghhhh!

Two of my running buddies called me this morning to see if I was planning to go. My guess was that it would be exactly like Tyler was last month, and I was proven right (just like you said) about 9:30. One of them called me back and told me there were probably 200 people in line in the parking lot, and wall to wall when they got in. At Tyler last month, I lasted just about 30 minutes before going outside and catching the good buys on the shoulders coming in. That's where the best deals are found anyway, and you don't have to blow the $7 to go in and feel like cattle packed into a box car. I ended up spending the afternoon at my favorite boy toy store in a much more peaceful setting

Also any 45 ammo was higher than Walmart when they have it.

Sales of guns and ammo are the only economic stimulus that Obama will create.

I dropped by there this afternoon hoping to pick up a Glock 27... didn't see a single one. I did leave with 500 rounds of target ammo. It was a little more than I would have paid at normally, but I never can find any in stock locally.

I went on Saturday and it WAS crowded. About 12 or so it started to thin out and it was almost bearable for a while. Lots of knives and a few guns. Schramm's was there and their prices on handguns were still better than those found on the 'net. AR's and AK's remain out of sight but did see a few buying anyway. XD's and Sig's seemed to be the handguns of choice but didn't see many waiting in line for paperwork. Went by Academy on my way home and there were a ton of people in line to buy guns and they were buying up XDM's, Taurus Judges, and Remington 870's (they just got a new load of guns on Friday afternoon and word had gotten out). I saw more guns going out their door than at the gun show. Went by the gun show (drive-by only) this afternoon and it was jam packed again. Wish everyone would get what they are after or realize that deals are where you find them and not necessarily at the gun shows.
Gun show next week in Bossier City; can't get a pistol but can walk out with long guns. Guess I will see how the show experience is in Louisiana.

I agree...
The guns show are places to stay away from at this time. You can forget about good prices on AK's and AR's.

I did the same after leaving the gun show and noticed the same. The handgun ammo stock behind the counter looked like it had been raided.
