In Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, a middle-school teacher was put on administrative leave after school officials found a photo of her aiming a rifle at the camera on her Facebook page.

I don't know the school policy on teachers' activities that are not related to the school. Many such policies contain a vague moral-turpitude clause.
This is why I am very careful about letting anyone who can fire me know that I have anything to do with firearms.

This doesn't help with getting my wife a CHL, that's for sure.

I just emailed my wife this story and we decided she should have no coworkers as friends on Facebook. She already made that decision with students (pretty easy call, IMO). To prevent them from being offended if this requires de-friending, I said we can tell people that we will not link with coworkers, students (in her case), or clients (in my case) while we have a professional relationship with them.
Her friends at work might be trustworthy, but you never know who their friends are.

You would probably be fine in Texas, remember, these are whack job liberal's in Wisconson.

Everyone in Wisconsin is not a liberal. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more hunters per capita than in Texas, because there's a lot open land where you can hunt.
These less-than-zero tolerance policies are everywhere. I've heard of thing like kids being disciplined for drawing weapons -- i mean drawing with a pencil or crayon.

Hunting has nothing to do with being liberal, look at your politics in Wisconson, there are very few states that are more blue than Wisconson. There are conservative people in California but I would not call California a red conservative state.

If Betsy Ramsdale isn't reinstated immediately, I hope she sues and get lots of money. She is not breaking the law or any morale code that I can think of. This is none of the school's business.

Agree.

She may have a basis for suing because it is a public school, and they are infringing her right to freedom of expression.
It also depends upon state law and the teachers union contract. It's more difficult to fire employees working for public schools than businesses, even in Texas.

I'm still trying to figure out the fascination with going on Face Book or My Space and bareing your whole life to strangers. That's asking for a hassle. The less anyone knows about me the better I like it..

Better yet:
Don't put anything online that you would not want your children or your mother to see...

Remember the good ole days when teachers were fired for sleeping with their students?
