Remember our ol' pal, Special Agent "Glock Fowty", who shot himself in the foot during a classroom presentation?

He's suing. It seems people think he's an idiot, and laugh at him.

The nerve of them!

If you are embarrased about doing something... then maybe you just better not do it.

I wonder if the kids would be required to provide a parental release to attend his lecture! That video is hilarious....but it would not have been had he shot someone in the audience. I am glad that it turned out the way it did; hopefully it made all of us stop and think for a second about how much attention we pay to the trigger!

yes, really. I found the irony quite funny. As my posted stated, I am glad that nobody else was injured.

The thing that makes it freaking hilarious was that he just got done bragging about how safe and professional he was.

Paige, who writes that he was "once regarded as one of the best undercover agents, if not the best, in the DEA,"
he will probably continue to be a very good undercover agent...just as long as he's no where near firearms.

"i had a AD." apparently it's common enough that his buddies know what "AD" is.

I seem to remember him making a statement like "I'm the only one in this room qualified to handle a (40)", just before he JOEY'd himself.

Even funnier when a minute later he goes to get the shotgun and everyone starts moving in their seats and you can hear them muttering.

Tragic, but funny at the same time.

I find it hilarious that he's suing because wide distribution of the video has left him unable to work undercover.

Gee, maybe it's just me, but I'm thinking that if your identity as an undercover agent can be compromised by video, perhaps it's best not to give lectures in public, knowing you're on videotape, appearing in raid gear with "DEA" emblazoned across it.

That, and he's "no longer able or allowed" to give school lectures. Well, duh!

How did you like that he cited his professional football career? I looked him up. Seems he was signed by the Tampa Bay Bandits, but never suited up before the USFL folded. And then in 1987, at age 27, he played in three games as a strike replacement player for the Buccaneers.

Could it have been a slamfire?

I notice that he was pulling on the slide right before he shot himself. I was mentioning this on another forum, and some members of this forum swear it's a slamfire. I disagree, as i'm guessing he pulled the trigger when he went to pull the slide back, but what about you guys? (I'd probably trust your opinions a bit more than on the "Other" forum...

I'm not really sure how he did it. In the video, it was difficult for me to tell what he was doing with the weapon at the time of the discharge. I do remember that just moments before, he was holding it up for everyone to see.

One thing is clear though, before he entered the school... he should have cleared the weapon if he had any intention of using it as a prop.

Understandably, the kids were more than a little nervous when he limped over to show them the shotgun.

Personally, had I done that. I'd pack up my family and move to another country. Poor guy, he'll probably go to his grave not having lived this one down.

So he shoots himself and terrifies a room full of kids. Glad you got a chuckle out of it, because I think it is tragic all of the way around. Why gloat in somone else's misfortune/stupidity, etc?

Is it ridiculous that he is going to sue? Yep.
