I looked at a Bersa Thunder 380 today at Big Town Gun Show. The price was right - $224.00. It "looks" good and I have read a couple of reviews that give it good marks. Anybody have any experience with it?

I have a friend who has that for cc and he realy like it. I tried his at the range one time and I thought the recoil is snappier than my G26..

but manageable.. Did you buy it? I might drop by later to look for a good deal on a G17 and possibly get somebody to look at some issue on my SKS but I'm not happy with the 30.06 sign that they have posted ( thanks for the heads up), not that I intend to carry...
30.06?

I bought one for my wife, but she didn't like it, so I sold it. I picked it up at a gun show for $188.
Things we didn't like about it:
- Safety took a lot of work to loosen up
The trigger was heavy
The grip screws kept backing out
The recoil was quite snappy
Limited selection of holsters

They had a sign outside on the sidewalk that said "No Loaded Weapons - And that includes CHLs". Once you got inside and bought your ticket, there was a very large 30.06 sign next to the guy taking the ticket.
I didn't buy the Bersa today. I wanted to get some opinions of it first.

Yes.
It's a great carry pistol. Myself and my Father-In-Law both carry one and trust our lives with it.
Just make sure you oil it up well and run a few hundred rounds through it to break it in and test for reliability.

Hello. I have only owned one of the Bersa Thunders, but I have had nothing but good luck with it.
This Bersa has worked flawlessly with any and all .380 ACP ammunition I've fired through it.
If interested, here are some observations on the gun:

Best.

I owned one at one point. You might want to check out Academy. I bought mine there.
The Bersa was reliable and fun to shoot. I never had any problems with it. It made a great summer carry.
I did however have the mag disconnect removed and shoe shined the barrel to remove the fine machining grooves. A trigger job was also performed on it.

I think that Academy has some kind of contract with them and the ones they carry have a wrap around grip that has finger grooves. Their price it $199.
I like my T380

I bought my Bersa T380 at academy for $189.00 but they have gone up to about $218.00. I have the duo tone as pictured in Stephen Camp's post.
My T380 does all I can expect of it. A few FTF's & FTE's at first. It shoots great now. Very dependable. It is my primary CCW because of size. Looking to buy the S & W - M & P compact when it comes out. Probably in 357 cal.
The leather slide holster works great with it.

All true, but it is reliable and accurate, and you don't expect alot of fit and polish on a 200.00 gun, I think you can spend 100. to 150. more on some others and not get as much gun.

I am going to be David Downer :(
I see quite a few at the range, and have shot a few. I have seen 1 that does not malfunction pretty regularly. I would not own 1 nor trust my life with one.
I consider Bersa a 3rd tier gun.
If YOU own one that you like or have ego invested in, please do not take this as an attack on you or your firearm, it is simply a report on my observations.

Hello. It appears that Bersa may be crankin' 'em out too fast now. During the time-frame that I purchased mine, others shooting them were having no problems and likewise, the one I bought has functioned flawlessly.
Best.

Jbenat,
Nice to see you in a forum other than the "waitibg room".. I have a good friend, he's a Chl holder who talked me into getting a Chl. He's got a Bersa just like yours and I have used it the range quite a few times. He's is flawless but recoil is snappier than my G26. If you're thinking of getting another carry in the future, consider the G26 IMHO it's the best bang for the money. I try not to be a big glock fun but once you have one it's hard not to like them. Maybe one day we can meet at the range and let you try mine so you can draw your own impression.
Ya'll have a great day!!

Glad to be out of the waiting room!

Hi Reysc. I feel like I've just run into an old friend. I would love to shoot with you sometime. My wife is just as much a fanatic as I am. She may come along. I've not shot a Glock but would love to see why so many people love these guns. My son is going to buy a Glock 33 as soon as he can afford it.
At which range do you shoot usually? I have seen your posts on other parts of this forum saying you go to an indoor range. We usually shoot at Backwoods Traps on Hwy 380 just north of Frisco, and at the Collin County Gun Range in McKinney (also on Hwy 380) and sometimes at the The Bullet Trap in Plano which is a indoor range. We live about 5 minutes from The Backwoods Trap but shooting at another range might be fun. That's where we qualified for our CHL.
Let's set it up!!!
