D/FW shows March 25-26

#1

Post by KBCraig »

I haven't been to D/FW in over 5 years. Saturday morning I'll be leaving Oklahoma City to head back to Texarkana. Dallas isn't really on my route, but I could swing through that way for a really good gun show.

I see two shows listed this weekend:

Texas Gun Collectors Assn. at Radisson Hotel (815 Main Street), Ft. Worth, TX.

Dallas Arms Collectors Assn., Inc. at Dallas Market Hall, Dallas, TX

While I wouldn't mind a good deal on a handgun, particularly a BUG or .22 revolver, I'm also a collector of WWI-WWII rifles, particularly Lee-Enfields. Given that, which show is likely to be more worth my time -- or is either of them worth the extra 2-3 hours on the road and Dallas traffic?

Any input on these shows is appreciated.

D/FW Shows

I don't know much about the Ft. Worth show, but I can tell you something about the Market Hall show in Dallas.

The Market Hall show used to be the premier gun show in Dallas. I've noticed the last few times I was there it has gotten smaller with more trinket sales than before. It is still bigger than any other Dallas area show in my opinion, however.

For all you TexasCHLforum members, I plan on having some forum information sheets available at the show to pass out along with name-tags so we might recognize one another in passing. I will have them at a table run by the Dallas Pistol Club. I'm told it will be near the northwest corner of the hall. I won't be there Saturday, but will be there Sunday.

Hope to see some of you there.
be safe,
be prepared,
tomc

in that case, you'd be better off going to Military Gun Supply. they're about the only ones who have surplus rifles at most of the shows anyway. why not go to their showroom? if you have an 03FFL, you can get huge discounts too. i buy a lot of my C&R weapons from them.
