Pizza man shoots his attackers in NC
Here's the link from the news: http://www.reflector.com/local/content/ ... eries.html
And here's the story from Sigforum that his friend relayed to us:
"Welp now I have all the info from him.
First off, he's okay and was hardly questioned by the police. They realy grilled the bad guys.
Basically he was prank called to a delivery at an address. Once he got there 3 guys ran at him. They saw him put his hand on his gun and stopped up and said that they ordered the pizza. One ran off "to get the money" while the other two were standing talking to him. One kept trying to get around behind him while he was making his way to his car and stopping the guy from getting behind him.
They finally gathered up the courage to attack him and he tried to push the guy away with his strong arm, and then they all jumped him. He hit the ground on top of his gun and they were wailing on him while he was screaming for someone to help him. He finally got to the point that he knew he was going out and pulled his gun and fired all 18 rounds.
He then got in his car and called 911 and reloaded and waited for the police to get there.
He said that the main guy that was doing all the talking was smiling the whole time they were beating him like it was funny.
Both of his palms and both of his knees are completely torn apart, and the entire left side of his head and ear is bruised and swollen.
He said he was definately glad he had a spare mag and he will carry it on his person from now on.
He hit 2, grazed one and I don't know how bad he got the other one. But they got to their car with a 4th guy and were all arrested at the hospital where they had to drive and I was able to see their car taped off there.
I knew none of this until he told me this afternoon when we both woke up.
I bought him his gun and taught him how to shoot. I don't know what would have happened to him had he not been armed and known the basics of shooting. I also bought him his holster(comp tac) and the mec-gar mags he had with him. It was a certified pre owned p226 which was JUST refinished by CCR a month ago. Thanks Brad for putting it back together correctly Smile 18 rounds, zero malfunctions.
The cops took his gun for evidence so I gave him my bedside gun to replace it until he can get a new one or gets his back... But I don't think he'll be seeing it for a while."

BG's got a lesson in sig justice.

He's lucky things didn't turn out worse, glad he managed to draw and fire but if they woulda disarmed him before he drew he woulda been in trouble. Also why I don't CCW an expensive custom pistol if you do use a firearm in self defense it can be confiscated for evidence and no telling when you might get it back.I carry a handgun I trust with my life after putting several thousand rounds thru it,but have less than 450.00 in it
It is said that if you line up all the cars in the world end-to-end, someone would be stupid enough to try to pass them

I CCW a P228, if it gets confiscated after getting me through a shooting then it has done its job. I'll use that as an excuse to buy another pistol, and eventually I should get it back.dukalmighty wrote:He's lucky things didn't turn out worse, glad he managed to draw and fire but if they woulda disarmed him before he drew he woulda been in trouble. Also why I don't CCW an expensive custom pistol if you do use a firearm in self defense it can be confiscated for evidence and no telling when you might get it back.I carry a handgun I trust with my life after putting several thousand rounds thru it,but have less than 450.00 in it

Kudos to the police for not giving the standard "we do not advise you resist a robbery..." advice.
Gaskins did not offer department support or objection when asked about resisting armed robbers the way White and the Chanellos Pizza delivery man did.
"Every individual situation is a judgment that the person there must make at the time they confront it," Gaskins said.
