GSG 5 22 semi auto

Post by dukalmighty »

I bought a new GSG 5 rifle and it got delivered today,if you haven't seen one it looks like a HK MP5 and shoots 22 LR ammo,I was shooting federal bulk box and after over 200 rounds had 0 FTF FTE.These are very tacticool even though they are around 500.00 msrp if there is a future ban these will be on the list, they come with a 22 round magazine and are fairly accurate,at 25 yards I was shooting 2" groups which isn't bad for me with iron sights

We got to shoot one of those at a local IDPA match. One of the Club members brought it up and supplied the ammo. IT was a lot of fun to shoot. Here is the video from the match. Stage 2 is the one with the GSG 5.

Mine is on order and should be here any day! From what I've been reading, most people seem to like them alot so it's good to hear something positive from someone on this forum too. I actually just bought 2 extra mags and the claw mount from Adco. Also there are some airsoft companies as well as regular firearm retailers that have some nice accessories etc that I might look into at some point.

Does the rear sight have an elevation and windage adjustment? Does it comes with 2 mags???

ps. This rifle is screaming for a chop and thread job too!!

It comes with 1 mag which holds 24 rounds, the rear sight is adjustable for windage by loosening a screw and sliding it left or right there is a screw you can adjust in or out to adjust the amount of movement then retighten the screw, the rear sight has 1 notch and 3 peepholes at different heights and you adjust elevation by turning sight to whichever elevation works,I found that the rear sight notch with the front post tip just showing at bottom of V is deadon out to 50 yards,I was shooting federal bulk box 22 LR the 550 pack and had 0 malfunctions in over 400 rounds so far

Here a picture of the wife on a recent range trip. I feed mine a steady diet of cheap Russian ammo without a problem. I've got 1,000 rounds thru and still aint cleaned it.

AR-15.com had a dedicated thread for the GSG-5. lot's of info.

.

I bought 2 extra mags from Steve at Adco as well as the picatinny claw mount for my clonepoint. I saw 2 different tables this past weekend at the Reliant gun show and one was at retail ($499) and the other was actually higher than retail ($550). I was very impressed when I finally got to actually hold one in real life. It felt solid and it had a little weight to it. I was not so sure about the quality since GSG makes airsoft guns, but once I held it I was convinced.

I have let several people shoot mine and they are all impressed by the weight and how well made it is,and the fact it is a blast to shoot,I have already put over 1000 rounds through mine in only 4 range visits,I have never shot any other 22 as much,I will be buying a claw mount for a red dot sight and possibly a collapsible stock, other than that the gun is pretty much setup to just shoot and shoot and shoot :fire :fire
