BIG GUN SHOW AT RELIANT 17th and 18th
Big Gun show at Reliant Hall this coming up weekend . Who is going and when and what are you looking for. I am looking for a RUGER LCP and a double mag holder for 45.
I used to think my dad was wrong about everything but as I get older I realize that he was dead on

Somebody had better bring a few LCP's with them, judging by the responses to this thread.

Are there any good parking options that cost less than two gallons of gasoline?

Depends on how far you're willing to walk.aardwolf wrote:Are there any good parking options that cost less than two gallons of gasoline?

Look for a dark skin guy about 5'8", looks like a bodybuilder, he sells a lot of surplus stuff. i bought a M44 and M91/30(?)(sniper version of M44) from him for $99/$109 respectively. He is the cheapest I have run across. I also bought 2 SKS's from him years ago for $99 each.308nato wrote:Yep I might have to pick up a Mosin M-44

http://www.ridemetro.org Download the various maps so you don't get lost.aardwolf wrote:Are there any good parking options that cost less than two gallons of gasoline?
None of the park & ride busses are running on the weekend that I know of but there are quite a few busses that will get you down there.
From I-10 (coming from San Antonio) Route 131. There is a stop at I-10 at Gessner near Memorial Herman City Hospital. You can park at the Hospital. Take the Inbound (east) and get off at the Main Street Square stop. From there you catch the light rail south and it will take you right to the Reliant center.
From 290 (coming from Austin) is a little trickier because there really isn't a local route that goes up 290 that I know of.
Take 290 in to 610 North (exit right to go North) and take the N. Shepherd exit. Turn left and go to 38th street where there will be a strip center on the right. In it, you will see a Millers burger joint that has the best burgers in Houston. Anyway, you need to take bus route 50 inbound (south). Get off downtown where it crosses the light rail. Take the light rail south to the Reliant center.
From North (Dallas) it's probably easiest to duplicate the west 290 scenario. Take I45 to loop 610 but go east. the 2nd exit is Shepherd and turn right.
From Hwy 59 North of Houston, exit Little York & go right (west). It looks like the best place to park would be at the Houston community Hospital. It looks to be 3 of 4 blocks down at Shady Lane and Little York and then catch bus route 6. Again, take it all the way downtown and exit at the Main Street Square Station & catch the light rail the rest of the way.
From I-10 east of Houston it looks like you guys have a park and ride you can use. Take the Maxey road exit and turn right. Go North for about half a mile or so and you should see the Park & Ride signs. Take route 137 and again, exit at the University of Houston downtown station. This is actually at the North end of the rail line. Take the rail to the Reliant center.
Around the clock to Galvaston. You guys are close enough to Houston. You can figure it out on your own. :) Just kidding. You can duplicate the 288 scenario below.
From 288 south of Houston, take the Airport exit & go right to Scott street. Take another right. The next street is South Acres and it goes left only. On the right according to the Aerial image on Mapquest, there's a large parking lot for a church or something. Park there and catch route 52 and take it to the Downtown Transit Center Station where you will then catch the light rail & go to the Reliant Center.
From 59 south of Houston, take the Fondren exit & park at the Sharpstown Mall on the south side. You will catch route 163 inbound. When you get downtown, the only place it crosses the rail tracks is up near U of H which would mean you are back tracking. The best thing to do is to get off the bus as soon as you cross under I45 & then walk three blocks east. This takes you to the Downtown Transit Center and there is a train stop right there.
Well, that covers the clock on using the bus in Houston to get to the Reliant center.
Of course, busses aren’t the fastest way to get down there but you won’t spend $10-$15 to park. It’s $10 to park at the Fannin South Park & ride for Reliant events and then it’s a mile train ride north to Reliant.
If any of you Houstonites live in these areas and know of a better way, please chime in as I live in the Northwest side and am going by Metro maps & airial images from Mapquest.
REMEMBER!!!
THE SHOW WILL BE POSTED 30.06 SO LEAVE YOUR GUN IN THE CAR. IT WOULD BE A HUGE PAIN TO HAVE TO TAKE THE BUS BACK TO YOUR CAR TO LOCK IT UP!!!
See you this weekend.

Thanks for the warning. I'll spend my money somewhere more gun friendly instead.TDDude wrote:THE SHOW WILL BE POSTED 30.06 SO LEAVE YOUR GUN IN THE CAR. IT WOULD BE A HUGE PAIN TO HAVE TO TAKE THE BUS BACK TO YOUR CAR TO LOCK IT UP!!!

Uhhm, you can take your gun in, it just cant be concealed or loaded. I am not leaving any gun in a car at Reliant. How do you think sellers get their guns in there? And if you want to go by the rules, Reliant is city property.TDDude wrote:aardwolf wrote:REMEMBER!!!

Many apologies. All gun shows are posted 30.06. You can bring guns in but they can't be concealed or loaded. You will have to dump your ammo in a trash can before you go in.aardwolf wrote:Thanks for the warning.
