I haven't been able to get into packing.org for two days. Is anyone else having trouble?

PDO's problems seem to have started when the new site/software was launched.

First stop of morning is here & last stop at night. PDO is less than a backup w/ me since the change in software. It is an occasional stop when I really don't have anything else to do. This is home.

I did notice that it looks like the Texas map needs to be updated. It still shows NM as a red state, but it is listed under the state lists.

+3 Even though it was more of a refrence site and not really a home.

I stop by PDO two or three times a day, but that's because of the volume of posts, not the quality of the content. There are a few diamonds in what is otherwise a big steaming pile of excrement. (I'm only talking about the "Gun Talk" section, not the reference side.)
With all the quality open-source forum software like phpBB, SMF, and others, I'm baffled by Mark Solomon's choice to develop something so kludgy in-house. That rating system is horrible, and just needs to be turned off.
There are some quality posters there, but they're in the minority. I've been online for over a decade now, and I've found that no matter what the topic is, birds of a feather do flock together. Forums with intelligent thoughtful well-spoken individuals attract others like themselves. At the same time, semi-literate buffoons and trolls seem to all hang out together, too.
I'm glad this forum is one of the good places.
