I will be the 1st to say welcome M4. This is better than a good place, it is great. That is one fine looking carry piece. What do you wear as a cover garment:?: Welcome aboard.
Carry 24-7 or guess right.

I can just make out the snake on that rifle. Nice Bushmaster!
Noticed the black mag... Is it steel or aluminum? (my black mags are IDS steel mags... they're my favorites)

Welcome...TacticalM4 wrote:They are steel. A friend that came back from Iraq for 2 weeks actually have me about a dozen clips. They were all pretty nasty lookin, so I sanded them down and painted them black.
What kinda paint did you use when you refurbished those mags???
I've been trying to score a few coming back, the same way you got yours...Tough to find someone to scoop a few and tuck them away somewhere for when they get back stateside...

I used high temp flat black engine spray paint. About $5 a bottle.
my best friend in Iraq who gave me his... Nice Carbine!
He simply had several empty clips in his vests.

Well, there's another great idea I missed! My niece's new husband just deployed to Iraq at the end of last month and I never even thought about asking him to bring me some "veteran" mags. Oh well, I guess it wouldn't be a great idea to email him and ask for them.
Welcome to the forum (yeah, I know you already got a Welcome PM).
Regards,
Chas.
