I just recently purchased a stoeger couger 8000 (9mm). I have put 135 rounds through it so far and no problems. Shoots pretty good. I was wandering what people thaught about it. I cant find any excessories or information on it at all. A guy at the range looked shocked that i had one.

If you haven't already, trying searching for Beretta Cougar stuff and you'll likely find more items. Beyond that, the gun had poor sales numbers and never had a huge following under the Beretta banner. As a result, there is not nearly as much aftermarket support as one might find for more common pistols such as Glocks, 1911's, Sigs and even the Beretta 92/96 series.

I have noticed that berretta had a couger 8000 but wasnt sure if it was the same. Stoegers website has it being the only pistol With them mainly selling rifels & shotguns. I was also wandering the age or when were they sold as new.

Beretta owns Stoeger. They shipped all their Beretta cougar machinery to Turkey and started a new assembly line there at lower cost. MSRP is half what it was under the Beretta label 10 years ago.

Interesting design - rotating locked breach barrel, chrome-lined bore.
Looks like a lot of gun for the money.

Definitely a great value for the money. Holsters and parts can be found, just take a slight bit more to find them that 92 stuff. You'll find that your Stoegar Cougar is identical in every way to the Beretta 8000 except the grip panels and slide markings because it's the same exact gun made on the same tooling in a different country. Stoegar will make them in the 8000 (9mm) and the 8040 (.40cal) models but there are no plans for the .357 or mini models. Congrats on the purchase, it'll bring you years of reliable service.
