Does anybodys local walmart still sell firearms? They took them out of both of my local stores in NW houston. I was hoping to order a Savage .17hmr they have listed on their website, and they're significantly cheaper than any of their competition...

Supposedly they can still special order anything.
Should have a catalog, if you can find someone to actually wait on you.
Personally, it's worth money to me NOT to have to go there.

At least speaking for my local Wal-Marts, I'd be willing to pay for that .17HMR if even one employee could tell you what HMR means.

The one in Lufkin still has a few long guns.
Long drive & I doubt they give any better service than described above.

I spoke to a manager a bout that. He could be wronjg, but he stated Cypress and Katy mills were the only 2 wallymarts with guns. Its a shame as well as I wanted a 10/22.

Last time I was in Crosby Wal-Mart, they had some Daisy Rifles for $34.99 on the shelf. I don't guess you're interested in those.

Full long gun shelves at the Walmart in Denton off the loop, McKinney at 75/380 and the Walmart at the corner of 75/Spring Creek in Plano. There are a few more up here in the north DFW area but I can't remember where I saw them.

Thanks, this one isnt too far. So is the policy that ANY walmart can special order me a gun, or just those that actually still sell guns. I have a feeling trying to order a gun from one that no longer has any on the shelf is going to be a headache with lots of moronic employees who dont even know their own store policy, if that is the policy. Anyway, i feel you guys about being hesitant towards buying from wal mart, but my budget is pretty tight, so the few extra dollars i save is more important to me than most probably.

I was in the Brownwood Wal-Mart about 3 weeks ago. I was thrilled when I saw long guns of all calibers in a display case like they used to have at almost every store. And in addition, they had several aisles packed full of outdoor and hunting gear. Just like old Sam W. intended.
I wanted to move from Fort Worth to Brownwood that week.

It has to be a store that actually sells guns. Each store has its own FFL. Not to mention, a store that doesn't sell guns won't have the proper paperwork, nor access to NICS.
