Some CHL`s may not wish to carry openly and thats OK too as you would not have to open carry. But some of us would like to have that option if we so desire to or have a reason to open carry such as a medical condition or clothing issues or its just to hot for concealed carry.

Please join us in this petition to restore your and my right to carry openly if we so desire!

Please HELP lift restrictions on us from open carry!

Thanks

Uh... what? We are already there. You usually don't petition for something you already have.

You can start your own "anti Open Carry" petition there...

Telling people (by your statement here) what they can't do, even though some here disagree with the issue of Open Carry, is almost right there with "infringement"...

Even though I support the idea of Open Carry, I would want the option more than anything...I do not need to make a statement by carrying my firearm openly, but anyone, I don't care who it is, tells me that I cannot do something in some manner...

Well, lets just say thats not very nice of them to do so...

Item #4 is slightly incorrect, and whether or not the others are misleading or conjecture is entirely an opinion and not fact.

The statement that #8 is incorrect is an opinion.

Well the OP was a bit suspect, and the petition linked to is just another attempt at bolstering the movement to that goal...

I believe I have pretty much memorized each of the members here positions on the issue...No big deal...

Besides, if we ever did get OC in Texas, we'd be 3 days shy of the end of the world anyway, so why bother, right??? ;-)

What we really need to worry about is what the honeybees will think of us when they develop into the dominant species on Earth and dig up our fossilized bones...

"This guy was wearing a 1911 Colt OWB..." etc etc etc

OP first post.

Seems they have no clue how gun laws are changed in Texas, so this is going nowhere.

If I had to wait for a document that is totally pure I'd probably be waiting forever. I signed it.

Since petitions have no legal meaning in Texas, the only possible use of this one is for a lobbyist or a constituent writing to his representatives to say X thousand people signed a petition favoring open carry.

That's why I signed it.

I doubt a legislator or highly placed aide will ever read the whole thing.

I could not have said it better.

Our current CHL laws are not perfect and are considerably better than when first enacted, and thanks to a lot of folks, many of whom frequent this forum, it will improve the next legislative session.

We all remember what it was like before it was enacted.

Since our congresscritters only meet every other year, we need to do everything we can to be ready.

No need in delving into my opinion on OC. I would just like to have the support of pretty much the whole firearms community in Texas. I personally would support pretty much anything firearms related.
