Needed - Gunsmith

I have a Colt Police Positive that needs some restoration work. It is a factory nickle gun that my dad left to me. It is in excellent shape except for the nickle finish, which is pretty much gone. All it needs is a good going over and a refinishing job. Anyone know of someone capable and willing to do the work?

The only guy I know is down this way about 5 minutes from my office on Hwy 3 across from Ellington Field...Ed Vandenburg...

If you're coming down this Saturday for PSC day...You can bring it with you, and I can run it by his shop Monday and let him give you a quote...

Lemme know...

I don't think Ed does nickle plating and I'm not sure he's working on revolvers any more. Doug Turnbull would be an excellent choice, but he's not going to be cheap! I have a Browning shotgun I'm thinking about sending to him. Like yours Steve, it was a gift and may be worth Doug's price. Here's a link to his web site: http://turnbullrestoration.com

Charles, I had seen Doug's site and considered it. If you are going to send yours in, let me know and maybe we can send them together. The gun has tremendous sentimenal value so it is worth doing right.

You might check with Jack at http://www.gunsmith.fuselier.com as he nickel plates exclusively.
