to just say we are the worst group when it comes to gun control just seems blatantly disrespectful.

Sorry if you don't like facts and I don't want to sound rude, but I really don't care if your feelings get hurt when it's an issue of gun safety. Let me say it again quite clearly:

As a group - and in a group - college-age kids are absolutely the worst gun-handlers bar none.

there's that sense of self establishment, so nothing i say is going to change your mind. my feelings aren't getting hurt over gun control, i just get irritated at ignorant statements like this. but if thinking this is what helps you sleep at night, then by all means go for it.

college students are not the worst gun-handlers. people uneducated in gun safety and proper handling or people with closed minds are.

You've missed the point. As I said, some college-age kids are perfectly fine - so it's not aimed at them as individuals. I really hate generalizations as a rule, but my statement is a result of actually seeing it every weekend and having to deal with the consequences of their actions - the fact that you don't like it doesn't make it any less true *shrug*

I doubt that I'm the only one who has seen a group of ignorant, arrogant frat-boys at a range who act as if firearms are just fun toys that have zero consequences - so yes (and here I'm going to emphasize my point yet again in case you don't understand plain English), as a group, college-aged kids are the worst group - next worse are old men.

Here's the deal: I wasn't raised in the USA - so I don't have any axe to grind concerning fraternities, Greeks or anything else. All I'm concerned with at the range is how you handle your firearms - period.

You take yourself way too seriously - perhaps this was too subtle for you, but at 46 I'm probably in the second-worst category myself - that of old men. thanks, i appreciate it. i'm just tired of waiting now. i took the class with three of my friends and two of theirs are already in the mail. i hate looking at my glock on my desk and having to wait to suit up with it. oh well, patience is supposed to be a virtue or something like that.

thats awesome. i love 1911s and i was going to carry one, but it was out of my budget. i plan on getting one once i graduate.

my buddy has a rock island 1911 and likes it. but for now, i decided to go with the glock. once i get a 1911 i think i'll be looking at a springfield.

but even that friend w/ the rock island just bought a glock 19! (continues to stir the pot)

I'd like to think we're not in the old man group yet Andy. We might very well fit into any number of other groups, but not that one yet.
