What solvent do you use to clean your guns?

Right now I'm using Slip2000 Carbon Killer or Hoppe's Elite for handguns.

There are so many good ones out there now what you use doesn't matter nearly as much as it used to.
Thanks for the recommendation Excaliber.

I just tried some Hoppe's Elite Cleaner and it took the carbon/fouling,/gunk right off. Plus it does not have the strong smell the Hoppe's No. 9 has.

You're welcome!

Most of the newer cleaners, including Carbon Killer, Hoppe's Elite, FrogLube, and others are water based and have no objectionable odors that will get you banished to the garage or the back porch for cleaning chores.

It's nice to be able to do that work in air conditioned comfort!

See, right there, you showed you're not a real gun guy! Some of us like to put a little dab of Hoppes No.9 behind each ear before going out on a date.

FrogLube all the way! My wife loves the smell and its biodegradable.
