A gun is not a weapon, Marge, it's a tool. Like a butcher's knife or a harpoon, or... or an alligator. Homer Simpson

Re: Introduce yourself
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Location: San Antonio
Occupation: Jack of many trades but master of none. Currently unemployed. I do posses a CDL with tanker and doubles/triples endorsements and am a self taught web developer (mainly PHP and MySQL).
CHL: Have not taken the course yet.
Carry weapons: None yet. Looking at either a G23 or a XD40sc, but will be test driving others to get what fits me.
Kids: 3. Daughter is 15 and my boys are 5 y/o and 6 months.
I recently found out that some trouble I got into when I was 19 does not affect my eligibility to own, but more importantly to carry. (Thanks to some very thorough info on these boards.) I am actually more of a rifle guy, but feel that self defense and home protection are very important. After all, crazies are gonna come out of the wood works in December...lol. All that being said, I would love to train for competition shooting. Rifles and handguns. I enlisted in the Army when I was 18 and through my own stupidity was generally discharged. It was an entry level separation so I receive no vet benefits. My MOS was 11x (infantry) and I had high hopes to go airborne Rangers. I shot extremely well and still wish I had not messed up my military career. I would love to have attended sniper school. Sad to say but hindsight really is 20/20. If I had half the knowledge I do now when I was 18.....well I'm sure you all understand.
Side note: My only means of transportation unless I ride somewhere with the wife is my 2010 HD Dyna Wide Glide.
Anyways, glad to be here and I look forward to bending some of your ears along the way.

Marital status: yes, happily for 14 years
Kids: 2 girls, 6 1/2 (VERY important to include the 1/2) and 3.
CHL: 4 months
Texas State Representative House District: 63, Tan Parker - one of my dad's favorites when he was in office
Congressional District: 26, Dr. Michael Burgess - outstanding guy
Carry guns/equipment: me - Taurus M327 - .327 Federal Magnum - 6 shot revolver in an Alabama Holster Co. Offside

Welcome to the forum, it is a fantastic resource. I joined this site when I was senior at A&M too.

30's Male
Another Aggie here. Profession involves a large nonprofit located in DFW. Don't want to get more specific and incriminate myself.
Married, 3 year old son
As of 9/5/12 background check is under review
Carry guns/equipment: Still working on this. I've got more hunting paraphernalia than anything, but in the market for a small carry gun as I need something tuckable on a small frame. I've got a Ruger p95 and an old .38 special, neither of which are very concealable in clothing required for my work/life. I'd buy a Shield if I ever came across one, and in lieu of that, have been looking at the CM9.

Age-35
Gender-Male
Location-Fort Worth
Profession-Analyst
Marital Status-Married with 4 children (all boys), Twins are 13, middle child is 8, and the youngest is 6
CHL-I just mailed off my paperwork on 8/22
Carry-I haven’t figured this out yet. The more I read here, the more I change my mind. My initial thought was subcompact for conceal purposes, but I’ve about come around to the idea of that being my BUG. I was considering the Beretta PX4 Storm subcompact, but if it’s not my primary then I will go with the Sig P238. At this point, the only pistol I own is a Glock 32.
