It's easy to sit back and snicker at those who talk about this question, but the reality is that we're suprisingly close to the edge. It wouldn't take much to throw us off the cliff. People want to just sip their Starbucks lattes and they're happy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not into foil-hat paranoia, but I'm not in denial, either.

In my opinion, the primary threat is not U.S. Army tanks rolling across your front yard, it's societal breakdown. The Center for Disease Control recently did an analysis and projected that if the national power grid went down, 98% of the population would be dead within 2 years, mostly from disease and violence. ISIS is fully aware that there are just NINE power stations such that, if they were all taken offline, would bring down the national grid and throw us back to the 1700s in about 30 seconds. No gas, no water, no electricity, no communication. But this could all happen in a variety of ways besides power grid failure: economic collapse, epidemic, political/social uprisings, water shortage, electromagnetic pulse, etc.

Again, not to be paranoid, but you might find it interesting to read this well-known essay. Not a pretty read, but still a sobering picture. Think "Rodney King riots X 10,000." React how you want, just don't tell me it can't happen.

I have plenty of arms and ammo, food, water, meds, extra Bibles, reloading supplies etc.

Having spent 5 years in a civil war before I can tell you, all the ammo and guns will do you no good unless you are willing to use them to defend your Nation from treasonous rats from within.

I wish there was another way. We are being pushed up against the wall.

Also, be careful itemizing, especially to your friends / neighbors exactly what and how much you have. Come November 9'th I may be out of this forum for safety reasons as the witch will crack down on dissidents (I know some will applaud that lol). I'll still be "here" though, Lord willing. :tiphat:

Be careful.

Wife and I had planned to vote last Thursday morning, however due to the events with my daughter she had to go alone. I will be getting back into DFW late Monday night. I plan to vote Tuesday morning and then hit the local firearm establishments in search for a full size 9mm pistol and possibly a 12ga tactical shotgun. My final ammo and magazine purchases arrived while I was out of town.
All other final preps will be food, medicines, water, etc.

I don't if anyone else has thought about it, but I kinda expect that later in the week once the dust settles on Hillary's victory that Obama will issue some executive orders limiting firearm and ammo purchases.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

We all should do what we can. I got food, water, and ammo covered for an extended period. Fuel is a problem though. However, man got by a long time without fossil fuels, just changes life as we know it a bit.
Do what you say you're gonna do.

From a pure investment standpoint, it is hard to envision a scenario where you could lose money, so that alone makes it a smart investment. Anderson lowers could be had for $50 recently (haven't priced them in a few months). Regardless of how the election goes, it's hard to imagine that they would get much cheaper than that.

Finally broke down and purchased my first AR15. I always had an issued department rifle of some sort but never owned an AR so last month I put a S&W M&P 15 Sport II on layaway at a LGS. Bought some 5.56 ammo for it and some other ammo but to be honest, I don't have the money to really stock up on the guns and ammo like I want to.

Maybe we should start a "prepping" thread for the election and other TEOTWAWKI scenarios.

Aside from my usual big-out gear, my truck is now loaded with a few more cases of ammo and a "not to be mentioned" black gun (black guns matter, too, y'all). I'm not a foil hat kind of guy, and I don't see the end coming anytime over the next few days. But I DO think we are ripe for some rioting and unrest, and as such I am prepared to get to where I need to be and defend me and mine.

All that said, let's continue to put our faith and trust in a God who protects, redeems, and restores and who knows our needs before they are even on our lips, a God who sits on His throne never to be moved, despite the evil schemes of men. Can I get an Amen?!
