As a decades long hard core 1911 guy I crossed over to the dark polymer side and carry a 19. I have won a few on web raffles and when I tried the first one out it was keeping a 5 inch circle with the target at the back of Big Kountrys pistol range. Swapped sights to fiber optic, added a manual safety and lightened the trigger. That plus much lighter weight and 17 rds on tap converted me. I now have 2 19s, 2 17s and a 34. They proliferate as bad as 1911s....

I guess I missed this earlier...

My favorite handgun for ergonomics is the Browning Highpower, but when I had a mechanical problem with it, I bought a Glock 19 and have carried it daily ever since. It doesn't feel quite as nice, but I was never a fan of the manual safety on the BHP, so it balances out. Plus I don't mind sweating all over the Glock or it's magazines in the summer time. It really has good all-around size, capacity, and reliability. I carry it in a Raven Concealment Vanguard 2, which is just about the least bulky AIWB arrangement to be had, I think.

Great pistol.

I had trouble carrying my gen3 G19 for years - it's just too big. Turns out that my problem was cheaping out on the holster. I recently got a Comp-Tac MTAC hybrid http://www.comp-tac.com/inside-the-wais ... ster-10225, which made it comfortable to carry IWB. It's my primary carry for now.

The finger grooves don't fit my big fingers so I had to get a G17. My first Glock.

I switched over to a G19 G3 about a year ago Academy had em for $499. I put a Crimson Trace LG619 on it, makes it stick out a little more.
