Can someone tell me what specific signage or notice would prohibit one from carrying a concealed rifle? I was under the impression that any gunbuster or "no guns" sign carried force of law with respect to long guns, but a conversation in another thread has me questioning where the legal basis for that is. I'm really not sure where I got that idea in the first place, so I'm not sure how to verify it. :confused5
Sign or not, regarding all firearms:
Long guns (and handguns both) are regulated by 46.03
Sec. 46.03. PLACES WEAPONS PROHIBITED.
(a) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly possesses or goes with a firearm, illegal knife, club, or prohibited weapon listed in Section 46.05(a):

Most other "firearm" regulations under Penal code Chapter 46 "Weapons" apply only to handguns, or handguns carried by Licensees
http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/D ... /PE.46.htm

I found a sign in Google images regarding 30.05 which would apply to rifles and the sign has information about who makes/prints the sign and from where to order it. I won't post that sign here. I've never seen one posted in person, and I don't care to help the company making that sign nor assist the hoplophobic people who want to "FEEL safer" by posting a sign making soft target zones at the expense of my safety

It was about sighted in perfect out of the box. It's dead on at 15 yards and maybe 1.5" high at 25 yards. I wasn't able to bench shoot it, but that's what I gathered after about 300 rounds.

I shot 100 WWB and 200 Federal all FMJ, no issues from the included magazine (pmag?) and the Glock 17 magazine.
No hiccups.

This will now live in work/computer bag. Now I won't feel quite as upset when entering a 30.06 (non-46.03) location. Woohoo :anamatedbanana
I walk through the tunnels downtown a lot, and there are a couple of buildings posted 30.06… Well, now no issues. I just wish I could get it as quickly as I can a G19 out of a holster, but it's the next best thing.

Fun little rifle!!!

First day at the range. Shot a box of Aguila 124 gr. FMJ and a box of Remington 115 FMJ and very light recoil, no failures and all were right on target. Only problem is that I had difficulty with ear muffs getting my head down to the sights. Used Glock mags as well as the Magpul that was provided with the rifle and all shot well. This is a great little rifle and I love it already.

I had the same issue. I had to switch to a different set of muffs that are very low profile. It seems to be the most common complaint, and that's the cheek position on the buffer tube while shooting. It can be a bit uncomfortable.

A thought just occurred to me........ Do any of you who already have a Sub-2000 have bushy beards (like the one in my avatar), and if so, does that reciprocating charging handle under the stock ever snag it?

It is a reported problem but I don't have a beard.
They make a cover for this

less than $15 with shipping. I believe it solves the beard problem.

I generally wear a set of the mold your own earplugs when shooting rifles, which eliminates the ear muff issue. You can get the kit from Academy for $15, and they work great.

I've been wanting a .40 Sub2000 to use with Beretta magazines. I'm waiting on the Gen2 version of that.

I thought it was available now (if you can find one).
